I mean my server Shuttle SV24 is essentially smaller then the XBox...

I find it so strange that people rip on GC's design. Its a very small near cube shape that weighs hardly nothing. Plus, its in 3 colors (currently), so there goes the whole purple argument.

Just amazes me that people don't like the simplicity and size of the design.

actually i beleive xbox is gonna come out with an Xbox "lite", basically a smaller version of the xbox sometime soon. lemme see if i can find a link

I will buy every system they ever make, as long as they keep making marios, zeldas, starfoxes etc....

The GC is easily my favorite of the three. The PS2 is quality. The xbox just doesnt do it for me, but xbox live is fairly genius. I just dont care for any of their games.

Theyve apparently ditched the sports and fighting market totally. But when you actually see the new zelda in motion, you will understand why GC can never be called a failure.

Nintendo will never be on top for one reason and one reason alone. Its not viewed as the cool system to have. The cool system to have is the PS2, with the xbox in the shadows. To most people I know that dont play too many video games, PS2 is synonymous with video games. The same people dont even know what a gamecube is. If they do, they likely see it as the kiddie system.

Like previously said by many before, its all about marketing. Its not the physical image of the console thats the reason why its not on top, its the mental image.

i agree gc tops my list too bar none.
ps2 is 2nd, for sheer content.
xbox is a distant 3rd...couldnt care less about ever owning another one.

i would buy an xbox with woodgrain and 70's puke green ...as long as it has HALO
I would buy Xbox even if it only came in kiddie-themed versions like Hello Kitty, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh if that was the only way I could enjoy the SWEET SWEET CANDY THAT IS XBOX LIVE, HALO, AND WHAT WILL BE HALO2 ON XBOX LIVE! :D
So the truth comes out? Xbox live, halo(ugh :(), and halo 2 are the only things going for it from the Xbox guru himself? :p

Edit
Xbox Live is the only thing going for it imho.

Of all the systems you want to pick on for looks you pick on the GC? Why not pick on the butt-ugly X-box? (don't flame me - I own one, so I know exactly how ugly and unwieldy it is, but I still enjoy it because it has some awesome games - you know - the reason people buy consoles). Have you actually seen a Platinum GC other than a bruised up demo at the store? The GC is easily the best looking system among the three systems around today. There is no system out there that says "buy me" based on it looks more than the GC. Do you really think that someone would buy an Xbox for its looks? I can see people buying a PS2 for its looks, but personally I couldn't care about its run of the mill black box unsymmetrical look that tries so hard to look smaller than it really is. The system most likely to cause a desire for purchase by virtue of its looks is the Platinum GC (even the Black GC is pretty good with it sense of proportion and gentle contrast).

Anyhow, do you really think that the success or failure of a console is determined primarily by its looks? I realize that the general console buying population these days is mainly seduced by hype, fluff and quantity over quality, but I didn't think the console market went that low.

Xbox leads GC in sales in every country it is in, except Japan. GC and Xbox have sold roughly the same worldwide. Except GC is losing developer support. EA may be making some new announcements about cancelations soon in regards to the GC. If EA isnt showing any GC games at E3, that would be a statement as to the state of the GC.

Gamecube is by no means close to failing, neither is xbox. Microsoft will never abandon the console market, even if they have suffered huge losses, look at how much money the company actually has. If they aren't making a tonne of money from the consoles, you can be dammned sure that they are from the games they are selling. Why do people whine and complain about the different consoles, and how they think they are failing? I think it probably has something to do with the fact that they do not have the console themselves and so they are whining that there must be something wrong with that console because they don't have it. Has PS2 sold more consoles than xbox or gamecube? Of course it has, it has been out nearly twice as long so one would expect that it would sell more. Of course the hardware is inferior to xbox or gc, but thats besides the point. People still will whine and say that their console is better than xbox or gc just because they want to feel better about their buy. Oh well. These console war threads got lame like last year.
