Word you are looking for is "gun safe"

From the article:
"Alliance for Gun Responsibility focuses on ending gun violence in Washington.

“Safely storing firearms in particular storing them locked, unloaded and separated from ammunition has proven to work to prevent unintentional shootings,” Ellingboe said
."

As discussed a few posts ago, not respecting and handling powerful items foolishly is dangerous.
True for guns, true for cars, true for power tools, true for alcohol. Forget that and you can harm yourself or others.

Over reacting is not sensible either. The response by one of the neighbors is not logical.

"Hassan said his kids play outside every day after school.

"No more going outside, they stay home," Hassan said. "No more going outside. It's scary. I don't want to lose my kids
."

The factory making the NRA's gun safe can also market them as child-sized coffins.

I guess this is sort of the same thing on a much larger scale?

India's air force said Tuesday that three military officers have been dismissed for accidentally firing an unarmed missile into rival Pakistan in March.

A formal inquiry found that “deviation from the Standard Operating Procedures by three officers" led to the BrahMos cruise missile being fired into Pakistan, the air force said in a statement.

Outdoor shooting is more fun anyways :D

Indoor range ventilation is very important and often insufficient but even outside people are still taking a lot of gas to the face suppressed and if they shoot quite a bit is not unusual to find elevated levels. I don't have a dog in this hunt really, just pointing out the tradeoffs.

Yea, it’s all trade offs. I’ve been reading here an there about suppressors (not recently, but last 6 months) and it seems some are better at not increasing blowback.

Indoor ventilation is a huge part of reducing exposure. But this article discusses indoor ranges ability to reduce shock waves to the dome mainly.

My “home range” has good ventilation and a noise alarm, plus pretty strict as to what you can fire indoors. But, the noise alarm can be triggered by as little as a couple 22’s going off together. You can feel even the small calibers in your body.

If I could conjure a change in both law and range safety rules I would make flash hiders legal nationally and muzzle brakes inpermissible at indoor ranges. The shockwaves of a person rapid firing their AR-15 with a big brake on it next to me trying to tighten my groups using a 80 year old handgun is most unappreciated.

Potential evidence supporting suppressors to prevent brain damage.
Paywall.

Is it the mechanic blowback or acoustics?

Anyway, sucks to be a redneck maga guy I guess, compound blank spots creeping up from every where, covid, guns, hard liquor

That was supposed to be the free link.

I don’t like stereotypes too much. My anecdotal experiences indicate the maga types seem to welcome physical pain or degradation as some sort of validation of their toughness.

Safety….not something that makes you manly.

Edit: it’s acoustics, shockwaves hitting the head
