As discussed a few posts ago, not respecting and handling powerful items foolishly is dangerous.
True for guns, true for cars, true for power tools, true for alcohol. Forget that and you can harm yourself or others.
Over reacting is not sensible either. The response by one of the neighbors is not logical.

The factory making the NRA's gun safe can also market them as child-sized coffins.
