dammit, I accidentally read a small spoiler because some idiot on another forum decided to post it in the no spoilers thread. Thankfully I didn't continue to read it, but that really sucks. I don't think it is a huge spoiler and I am still hoping it is fake, but oh well, no more internet for me till I finish I think.

I really don't understand people who try to be a prick.

Same here 🙁

I hope the spoiler is not true at all. If it is, I just found 'who' of those 2 people.

That would be awesome if you got it a day early. Mine says its in the next town over, so I fully expect it to be here tomorrow.

Kudos Amazon.

I hope Ginny and Snape die gruesomely.

why don't you like Ginny ?

i think Dobby will show himself to be quite the martial
artist, maybe a little like Yoda in the one Star Wars movie.

in Book 2 Dobby sort of dueled with Lucius Malfoy, and kicked
his butt, WITHOUT a wand.

i can't imagine that the obsessive concern he showed for
Harry's well-being in Book 2 will remain un-utilized in the
final show-downs.

i'd like to see what Dobby can do with a wand.

House elf magic is different than wizard magic...they never need wands...i doubt it would change his magic at all...

Nonhumans aren't allowed to possess wands under current regulations. Goblins did use them in the past though.

I just don't get the mindset. You've got morons going to every messageboard they can find trying to ruin the Harry Potter ending for others. I've gone through more than a couple of message boards like that today.

You've got numbskulls who get into online games getting their jollies by ruining the experience for everyone else playing....even if it means sitting there and doing nothing.

Is there any sort of personal gain out of this? No. Financial gain? Nope. The person being the asshole gets nothing out of it except the knowledge that they got to be an asshole. Are they that desperate for attention?

Apparently so...

/rant (sorry, in a crappy mood right now)

edit: Don't know why my post was moved here. This wasn't about Harry Potter as much as it was just a general rant about why people feel the need to ruin things for others for no other reason than just to be an asshole.

In the wizarding world is schooling mandatory? Can you choose to ignore the admitance letter each school sends out and instead decide to live a muggle life? Is it also possible to be home schooled in the wizard arts instead of attending an academy?

Yep, and some do.

Just got the book - B&N was completely crazy. Now to read a page or two before getting at 4:30 for my early morning flight.

So I picked up the book at Walmart....no lines and for only $19. They said they sold about 65 and had about 635 left. B&N had it for $34!?

went to borders (reserved the day you could like months in advance) tonight, stood in line, got book with free "collectible" poster, left.

now im going to sleep.........

Damn it, I didn't get a collectible poster :brokenheart:

That's alright though because the copy I got is for my girlfriend. She is in the UK and is getting me the British version 😀

$34 is MSRP but BN has 40% off bestseller hardcovers, so that makes it $20.99.

People drove by our line saying that the place across the street has it with no line. I ran across to find 30 people in line and only 20 books. Full price though. I guess I acted late because if I ran across earlier I could've gotten it. I got back in line at BN and got it within another 20 min.

Overall I got hte book faster than Book 6 despite even more people this time.

Book 5 was just amazing for me. I got there at 10 and got out by 12:30...

Anyways, time to start reading.

I reserved the book at the library a few months ago and was #75 on the list. Got an email this morning that it's ready for me to pick up today. I'll be there when they open. Now I won't have to avoid finding about the spoilers for much longer. Oh, for those who wonder about such things, my husband reads them too, as does my daughter, my son and my daughter-in-law. My 3-yr-old grandson is enthralled by the movies. Great, timeless literature? Probably not. Enjoyable reading - certainly. At least for all of us.

Wow. I just finished the book, stayed up all night. Amazing book, by far my favorite in the series.

My favorite chapter is the Prince's Tale

Wow. Extraordinary end to an extraordinary series
