I'm not sure about the X1 OS off the top of my head, but I find that the PS4's OS lags a bit while a game is open in the background. Maybe it's a similar thing for the X1 OS?

Yeah, I am using the Xbox One instant game resume beta OS feature. I guess it's beta for a reason.

The XB1 OS likes to stutter a bit to me where the PS4 UI doesn't when moving between menus and selections.

So, my controller just stopped rumbling. I hope it is because of low battery or something. This is garbage. It basically ruined my racing experience in Forza.

When I was watching the Revision3 XBOX One launch live stream, their rumble wasn't working. The guy commented that the batteries might be dying, they gave him some new ones, and it worked fine.

Did you try new batteries yet, Smack? It would be cool if losing rumble is the first sign of low battery... Way better than the controller just up and disconnecting, like it did on the 360.

The 360 had flashing lights on the player indicator. Not the greatest, but better than nothing.

I'm not sure if my 1tb 7200 rpm hd has anything to do with it, probably not but I have not had any stuttering in the ps4 ui while I was snapping in and out of a game. I do notice a slight lag in bf4 when you go into battle log and then hit l3 to get a player's profile. That and in cod when you go to send an invite through the cod ui it stutters a bit.

I didn't try new batteries until my controller died. Once I replaced the batteries, the rumble resumed. So, yes, it is the first thing that goes.

I think that was with a rechargeable battery pack. I don't think you will get any notification on AA's.

Usually those people can only afford one console or have only owned one console brand. They have some sort of loyalty to the product they own.

Or people just need to grow up. I am more of a Xbox gamer, in fact 99.9% of my gaming last gen was on the 360. I only have the XB1 right now, and have gone back and forth on the idea of picking up a PS4. With all that said, I don't need to spend time or energy trying to crap on the "other" system. I am happy that the PS4 is doing so well, because that means our hobby, something we obviously love doing, is going strong.

i personally havent turned on my ps4 since i got my xbox1, and only have 1 game for xbox1. i plan on finishing knack this week though just so i can be done with it and maybe get rid of it. i really have no interest/urge to get back into killzone too. i think that was just an impulse purchase to see the graphics.

This is why I held off on it. I have a few friends that have grabbed the XB1 and have had a blast playing stuff with them. When they aren't on, I am enjoying single player stuff in Dead Rising and Ryse. I may eventually get a PS4, but if I don't I won't be talking trash to the people that do get one. That just makes you look pathetic.

same exact situation here. ever since I got forza I haven't wanted to go back to killzone.

But they are completely different games..I guess I've never been too big into racing games. I wish one of my friends had a one so I could try it out and see what forza is all about. I remember playing Sega gt rally on original Xbox, I spent a lot of time with that.

Yeah I know once I start playing forza and KI more I will probably be the same way although I got NBA 2k14 on ps4. Since I like the controller on the ps4 a bit better I can see myself buying a lot of multiplatform games on the ps4 though.

I will say that I liked killzone but I had my expectations higher than I probably should have and certain elements of the game were very disappointing as a result. The MP is quite good though if you are into that.

We are exact opposites because while I will admit that the ds4 is much improved, to me it doesn't even come close to the XB1 controller. All I know is I went way overboard on buying games. I now own BF4, DR3, Ryse, Forza 5, NBA 2K14, and Powerstar golf, and I am planning on picking up peggle 2 next week and Halo Spartan Assault once it comes out. Hopefully I can make myself stop buying games, because I am already starting to develop a bit of a backlog and I've only had it for a couple weeks.

It is tough to finish everything at once. I have to go one at a time. I tried playing a bit of everything and then I end up getting lost as to what is going on in the story or where my progress was. So I did killzone, ac4, and am goint to start DR3 next.

I like the ds4 better because I dislike the analog sticks on the xb1. They are just too tall to me and the ds4 melts into my hands more quickly. I am also not much of a fan of the new bumpers on the xb1. Neither is bad though and if you told me I could only ever use the xb1 controller I would be fine with it. I would not prefer it but I wouldn't sweat it.

This would be the only reason for me to get one. I'm happy with my ps4 right now. If I get another tv and place it in the bedroom I would get an Xbox one if the price was the same.

What Microsoft is doing is testing the waters, they know the hardcore fans will buy it regardless. I suspect Microsoft is hoping to see that developers will use the Kinect feature for new games.

At some point, Microsoft will either have to fish or cut bait, if they see that developers still do not embrace the Kinect then they will sell a non kinect edition.

They will probably do it in 6 months if the Kinect is not embraced by developers. Microsoft will not want to lose sales to the second tier of customers to PS4, so by then the 399 Xbox sans kinect will be a choice.

MS will not cut the Kinect. It won't happen. They are invested in the technology and design that incorporates the Kinect. And nearly every launch game uses it in some fashion already. Why would developers not continue to add in things for it? Fifa uses it, Madden uses it, DR3 uses it.

Agreed. And to be honest, I hope they don't abandon it... Kinect has won me over.

Honestly, I was against it because motion control is generally awful. However, the voice control is what has done it for me. I love being able to skip menus and additional control input to be able to do things. No longer am I forced to pause the match, go into the substitutions option and pick each player. I can just say "substitute Messi, Ramos" and it happens at the next possible point.
