Not even Google has had success with their GoogleTV. Now I'm sure since it's Xbox it'll sell a ton but the tv features will be hardly utilized.

HBO is owned by Time Warner. You think Time Warner is going to let you bypass subscribing to Time Warner Cable to get HBO?

It's not going to happen.

Time Warner is a business just like any other. If they can be shown it will make more money letting HBO go that route, why wouldn't they? You'd think they'd have taken that approach and blocked DirecTV / Dish Network from getting HBO right? Of course not. Letting them have that channel is just free money.

I do agree with the sentiment that the TV stuff will be lost on quite a few of us (myself included), but the landscape is changing in the TV realm. The old model will be challenged and changed eventually.

I saw a supposed leaked screencap of some of the new X1 games that will be unveiled at E3. It doesn't show each title, but you can see a few:

Banjo & Kazooie: Grunty Land
Forza Motorsport 5
Fable IV
Halo: Spartan Assault
Quantum Break

You can see partials of some other titles, but I can't make them out. One looks like the Halo logo though. Lionshead did also announce Fable Anniversary Edition today, which is a HD remake of Fable + The Lost Chapters... for the 360.

if banjo kazooie is the "huge" rare title I am going to be pretty disappointed.

So Halo: Spartan Assault an XBone game or a WP8 game? I'm a little confused by the trailer on YouTube that shows it being played on a phone and tablet. Maybe there's some tie in with a real console game.

I never liked Banjo and whatever. I was hoping for a new KI. Oh well.

Here's the image in question:

EDIT:

Apparently, the bottom right are supposedly Dead Rising 3 and Halo 5.

The knife in the logo on the bottom left does vaguely resembled the 'I' in the Killer Instinct logo, but the KI are smooshed together. So, unless the logo got revamped, that's probably not it.

lol this thread is slowly turning me into an xbox1 hater and i hate it.

2 halo games at launch? yeah, totally tired of that franchise.

banjo kazooie being the "ultimate" rare game? yeah ... pass.

forza and fable ... pass. was not a fan of dead rising ... pass.

PLEASE MS SHOW ME SOMETHING THAT I CAN GET EXCITED ABOUT PPLLEEAASSEE I WANT TO BUY YOUR CONSOLE BECAUSE I AM A CONSOLE FANBOY!!!

EDIT:

about the ki logo, you are right that does vageuly resemble the I in the logo. and to make matters more interesting, it kind of looks like the right side of the number 3, inside of the I ...

About the only one I'm remotely interested in is Forza. I've been a Halo fan since 2001, but I'm starting to get majorly burnt out.

I will not be buying a console, certainly not at a $400-$500 for one game or two.

They would have done that already. No cable company is going to let their bread and butter go so easily. They are worse than the music industry.

was just browsing ign right now looking at some more info, and i was not aware the the xbox one will REQUIRE kinect to even function. so yeah the more i hear the less i am interested.

also, i know that us on this forum are the vocal minority speaking our minds, and don't represent the general consumers, but i thought the comments in this article were interesting:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/xbox-one-will-not-function-without-kinect-attached

there are over 2000 comments, and if you just read through the first page, i'd say like 95% of the comments are against the kinect being forced down our throats. in the grand scheme of things, 2k people isn't that much. but it sure is a lot more than the few dozen posters in this thread.

User will not pay Xbox One user/trade fee
http://fudzilla.com/home/item/31576-user-will-not-pay-xbox-one-user-trade-fee

This is BS from MS.. any store will be just passing the price down to users and you can no longer, lend, give away or sell your games to friends/ebay

"Once someone buys a NEW game the developer makes money! .. What happens to that game from then on out is not anyone's business as the money for it has already been paid.. it could sit on a shelf to 50 years in someones house it could be tossed into the trash, given to a friend or it could be resold the fact still remains that the product was paid for and profit for it was taken... This is double, triple, quadruple dipping!

No other product on the face of this planet charges a second free for resale after purchase because its just stupid and wrong"

By that a new Mazda 3... sell it a year later and pay Mazda a FEE for selling it would work great hey! 🙂

Nah man, no one wants Kinect. I have it under my TV but no one has ever used it......ever.

My cousin borrowed my Xbox360 and left the Kinect to rot under my TV lol.

http://kotaku.com/xbox-ones-kinect-can-turn-off-microsoft-says-noting-510100564

MS is saying that you can turn it off and that they'll provide privacy settings.

There's nothing to make me actually believe this, though. All they've said is "trust us, really!" I don't trust the Kinect to not be watching unless it is unplugged and in a different room.

to even have kinect hooked to xbox1 in my ht i would need like a 25ft cable, that would be running from a closet, then on the floor in the middle of the room, to the kinect that would have to be mounted specially to sit on my center channel speaker. or i could put it on the stand below the speaker, but that could cause some possible rattle so i'm not sure. to run it in wall would take cutting some holes in my wall and about a 45 ft cable.

while i know i'm a very specific case, if the kinect MUST be hooked to the x1 in order for the x1 to even work ... 99% chance it's a deal breaker right there. the only 1% chance is if killer instinct 3 is a launch title.

Or you know, connect it to the xbox where the xbox is and don't use it (if it can be disabled, which is what you were quoting...).

i'm talking about if it's required to be used to make the x1 function. as in, you HAVE to use it for certain things. at this point i wouldn't put it past ms to do something that stupid based on the other decisions they've shown with the x1. obviously you could hook it up and put it behind the console or something.

They could theoretically have software in place to prevent the console from functioning if the Kinect isn't pointed at you. Seems unlikely, but certainly possible.

For me, paid online is already a dealbreaker, and it doesn't sound like they're moving away from that at all. But practically everything else we know about the Xbox One is a dealbreaker as well, from Kinect to the possibility of no more used games (or just more restrictions that make them more expensive), and there's really zero chance I ever buy one.

Yeah its only one of the best platformers ever made. Maybe it will have guns and fighting in it to appeal to the lowest common denominator...

I would take a new Banjo Kazooie or Conkers Bad Fur Day over KI any day.

Oh, fighting games are part of the lowest common denominator now too? Perhaps if they included a cloth map in one special edition and an "action figure" in another, then charged $100 for each, you might be interested.

i would have thought that by now you would now that any game/genre he doesn't like = lowest common denominator.
