He was probably padhacking so he could use his current joystick with the X1. I know if I was heavily into fighting games as I once was I'd be doing the same. Have 3 sticks laying around that haven't been touched in over a year.. lol. Really need to get my post count up on SRK (old user who forgot to reregister or whatever it was they did) so I can sell them.

yup, and iv'e done it plenty of times in the past so i had 100% confidence too :(

i have 2 joysticks that work on both ps3/360 via the same usb cord coming out of it. you just gotta flip a switch to put it in ps3 or 360 mode. i was going to just have another wire coming out of it for the x1, but ultimately i failed. so i'll just have to wait until monday for the te2 to come, unless i get extremely lucky and it arrives at fedex today or tomorrow and i can just go snag it.

I may have screwed myself over with UPS hold for pickup. I called last night and had no problems getting it held, however after going there this morning to get it, I was told that it was already put on the delivery truck before they could pull it. So right now, it's out on the delivery truck.

What worries me is that tracking for it currently says "Held for Pickup", so I'm wondering if the driver is even going to bother trying to deliver it to me or if he'll just keep it on the truck and take it back to the shipment center.

They usually deliver around noon-1pm. The wait begins.

So apparently hold for pickup means take it for a ride in the truck. Maybe their status on the handheld computers didn't update quick enough until now. So the driver didn't know and packed it to deliver anyway.

There is also an obscene amount of money in data mining, just look at Facebook and Google. How long until personalized ads are popping up because your Kinect noticed certain brand of drink or snack sitting next to you. I despise the ads on the interface.

Lol how embarrassing would it be for someone to have a guest and get ads for certain personal items that were quickly hidden away before the guest showed up. Hahaha

Esp if its another Kinect user that knows how it works.

Hold for pickup worked great for the PS4 last week. I think where it went wrong is that the PS4 shipped from Indiana and I requested it while it was in transit to my state. The Xbox One shipped from Kentucky and UPS didn't scan it until it was already at the shipment center. Only one hop from Amazon compared to two from last week.

i was contemplating doing this as well, as far as hold for pickup goes. the first time my status actually registered with the tracking number though, it was already out for delivery. this was like 12:30am this morning. i'm just going to leave work at lunch to be there for it. i already told my team here i'm leaving, and they had told me that was the reason another guy had already left this morning lol, because he knew his delivery was coming soon.

Yeah sounds like it, hopefully someone gets to the bottom of it because there are many reports of the grinding issue.

Microcenter opens in 15 minutes and they have at least 30 per store, but I think that means they're probably going to sell out (they're an hour away from me). I'll just press my luck with Amazon's standard edition shipping soon.

Ditto, the 360 killed the PS3 IMO.

Try stores that no one else would think of. Not Toys R Us, not WalMart, certainly not MicroCenter or GameStop. I went into Sears last Friday and was there an hour after they opened. They had two PS4's just sitting there.

Think outside the box ;)

I pre-ordered neither system and have them both sitting here in my office

Of course, Sony is much more into the hardware space than Microsoft. Sony has a huge history of electronics.

That sounds to me like the motor is skipping gears when it tries to spin up.

I did expect some reports of problems. I must say though that when I first did the update it sort of paused on the green startup screen for longer than I thought it should. I left it alone and it eventually finished and booted as normal. My experience with the windows 8.1 update told me to wait it out.

Starts up fast now.

when you guys turned it on the first time did you have it wired to the net? does it auto update or do you have to manually go update it?

doubt it's going to work, but did anyone try plugging in an x360 wired controller or joystick? i'm definitely going to try when i get home but definitely not expecting it to work. the guts of my joystick are the atari looking 3rd party controller for the 360 so maybe it'll be lucky lol.

also, last night i ruined an x1 controller pcb while trying to wire it to my joystick. i guess it is cause my soldering iron is so old or something was wrong, but it peeled off the copper contact on the pcb :(. its the same iron/solder i have used for ages that has always worked fine but for some reason it was getting too hot or somethign on the low settings. i hadn't used it in ages though and was sitting in my garge, along with the solder, for over a year so i don't know if the temp changes in there somehow jacked it up. but $63 down the drain.

and after taking the controller apart, i can see why the controllers are $60. there is A LOT going on inside of them, and the controller is actually 2 pcb's.

As soon as mine updates, I will try and see if a fightstick works.

http://furiousfanboys.com/2013/11/s...ng-a-green-screen-of-death-or-bad-disc-drive/

what the hell is that grinding? Maybe there is some tape that holds the eye in place during shipping and it wasn't removed before the drive was installed?

From the video:
"Can you hear that?"

NO I CAN'T HEAR IT! BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO COMPILED THESE USED SOME STUPID SOUNDTRACK AND TURNED IT UP TO DOUBLE OF WHAT THE VIDEO VOLUME IS!!!

Seriously, whose idea was it to put that track in and make it just SO LOUD?

Console game with an HDMI cable, which is nice, but it did not come with a micro / mini USB for the controller. Hmm...

My buddy's Kinect died on him this morning. Microsoft told him he has to send it (just the Kinect for now) in.

Suckage :(

if you wanted a wired controller just snag a micro-usb from newegg for cheap. that will turn it into wired and you don't need batteries or anything in there.
