The **Official** SW: TOR Anandtech Guild (Roll Call, Allegiance, Class Etc)

I would say a mix of both. keep it smaller but let others in. just more of this is my friend or i played witht his guy and he was cool and not a moron. I owuldnt just run around inviting people but i also wouldnt limit to forum users only. people you know and want in are fine with me

One thing I think we need to decide also... Once we form the guild, are we taking anyone who asks to join? Requiring a post in this thread or some other proof of affiliation with AT? Or maybe a reference from an existing member if they aren't on AT?

Whichever way we go I think it'd be best to decide up front.

I think we take outsiders, but either require a post in this thread or have a current member recommend them.

I'm for this... if you're not comfortable judging a person's character after 30 minutes don't invite them though. No need to be hasty. I'd much rather slowly build a reputation on our server where people seek us out as opposed to desecrate it early on, and end up with people avoiding us.

To those with early access... would you like me to setup the mumble server now, or wait until official launch when the number of players heats up a bit?

Are there any sites/threads tracking code redemption/purchase date to acceptance? I'd like to know how far along they are.
EDIT: They have an official wave thread in general at the official site. People reply in with email and order date. I'll just follow that.

Don't think there's any rush. Only 3 people have shown up in game so far.

How large of a server do you think we need?

I know two folks that would like to join the Empire guild, plus the interested parties posting in the forum.

sad to say i wont be joining the AT guild either since im going on a pvp server. 🙁

i was looking forward to meeting some of ya.
imma be rollin with my empire homies on The Fatman (most amazing server name). look for a bounty hunter named Starke if ya stop by. 🙂

So what about loot, money, crafting, etc are we doing any guild stuff with that?

money is split between members so not sure i follow there.

loot...just worry about ti when we get there. its along time before we have 50's ready to do operations lol. Flahspoints the need/greed system works good enough IMO

Crafting wise...both s44 and i went synthweaving/archeology/under world trading. Be nice ot have more skills covered. but i honestly just wen with what would benefit me the most and what i wanted. Im sure others with take skills they need. If i have extra mats i have no problem sharing/trading either.

I do think folks should try to spread out the crafting skills. While I know it's tempting for *everyone* to take the two armor and two weapon skills, the others need coverage too. Biotech = free stims and medpacs, including, for the crafter, bind-on-pickup (untransferrable) reusable versions at epic level. Cybertech = perhaps the most useful skill, since it handles not only implants but the mods that give armors (edit - not weapons any more) their stats. Also, reusable BOP grenades at epic level, and craftable mounts (!!!).

Also note that you can't share nodes, so if you play with a bunch of folks who need archaeology or scavenging, there may be competition. It's worse for arch, I think, because there are a lot of droids that die and leave scav-able corpses, particularly in some zones. Bioanalysis should have the least competition, since it (I think) only goes to biochem.

I'll be joining the republic guild, as will my brother and hopefully a few friends of mine.
Great. When did you guys preorder?

I'm going to choose Cybertech for sure and will be playing Republic with my main when I eventually get into the game. Still trying to decide on class; I kind of want to play something that is not as common, but not sure what that is. :hmm:

Tried to update the OP to reflect committments so far. At this point I'm glad I am not in yet, my proposal at work is due the 22nd, and the UAW has just rejected it. They've had it since 11/9... Today is not going to be a good day.

Anyone with early access want to park a name for me? I doubt it will be taken, but it's very important to me, as I would like to use the name of my gf's father, who passed away from cancer last year.

I had just got my Early Access invite, but of course now tied up with work for 2 days 🙁
Got mine today as well... 7 day stretch FML

Send me a PM and I'll do it.

Are there any restrictions on names? I know LOTRO attempted to be pretty strict with keeping names in line with lore. Not that I plan on having a crazy name, just wondering.

In theory, yes. I think I posted them in the other threads - if not I can put it up later when I'm at home. In practice, it depends who's reporting you.

As far as low-pop Republic, probably trooper. Jedi Guardian isn't as common as other Jedi, I think, but at early-mid levels you'll still have loot competition with the billion Jedi Sentinels. Still, tanks are always good, though healer is all you need for TOR grouping until endgame or near it.

Given the piles of healers in this and other threads, I'd say Guardian or Vanguard.

I'm rolling a tank while leveling to get the mechanics down. Guardian ftw.

Ok, sounds good, thanks for the tips. Still need to read up on the detailed classes so I know exactly which ones those are. 😀
