I preordered mine online at best buy and picket it up in store. They didn't even give me an actual receipt since it went on my store card. I got something that looked like a receipt which said I picked it up and now it's faded. Not sure what I did with that either. But I think I can print it online or go ask them in store.
 
I had to provide proof just to get a controller replaced. We all know it's not even a year old yet but they still want proof
 
I am going to include a printed copy of the chat log with customer service where they confirm twice I will not need my receipt, hope that does the job
 
I have looked into this in awhile, has PS4 upgraded to include abilities such as:
mp3 support
using external HDD's
and streaming from PC's?

No mp3 support. But you can import music from a usb to use in share factory for editing video. So basic mp3 support shouldn't be too far away. Not sure for external hd because you can change the internal. I have a 7200rpm 1tb hd in there now. The streaming capabilities should be coming in an update.
 
What do you mean about the streaming from PCs? is that even possible? I mean... dont think that that will be a reality anytime soon.

That's part of the dlna media package and should be in an update we are waiting for if it ever happens. The ps3 had this added in an update after it released.
 
I'm sure it's getting overshadowed a bit by the Destiny release right now, but maybe the best game this month to try is Velocity 2x.
 
Well I learned my lesson selling games on eBay today. For the past week I was looking at closed listings that ended for thief for the ps4. They finished at $20-30 so I thought well let me list mine for a week.

Finished at $17.52 which is kind of ridiculous to be honest. But its better than getting $6 for trade in I suppose.
 
Any idea when we will get new headphones for the ps4? I need a set and I keep looking around, I'd rather not run a cable to the controller if possible.

I know the Sony golds are totally wireless but I'd rather have Dolby headphone surround then the Virtual surround sound that Sony uses. The round ear cups with pleather cover don't go well with my ears either.

All headphone surround is virtual. The consoles cannot do dolby headphone mode like a PC does with drivers.

What's the difference between the virtual surround that Sony uses vs Dolby surround? Or do you even know if there is a difference?
 
anyone know what I can do to spit my sound out from my ps4? I have my PS4 hooked up to an EPSON 8310 projector, which doesnt have a audio out jack. In the past, I used a PS3/360 cable just for audio, and ran video through hdmi. I took the composite audio out and ran it into my computer, which I used to play the sound through my speakers.

The only other jack on the ps4 is toslink.

is there a toslink to stereo converter? Or is there a card I can buy to have a toslink-in jack on my PC?

Currently just playing with headphones until I figure it out.

Does your computer have an hdmi port? You could get an hdmi splitter and send the same signal to your PC and projector, and only use the audio on your PC.

Monoprice has them. They're not that expensive. You just need to set the PS4 to output to PCM stereo.

Or you could get a proper AV receiver with HDMI inputs. Obviously that's going to be a lot more expensive.
 
They need to make it where your controller shuts off if you don't use it like a Xbox one controller. Sucks when your watching Netflix and your controller goes dead. I literally have to keep a spare controller charged all the time just because of this

They do. You can adjust the auto shutoff time in the settings.
 
I hadn't realized how much faster Digital download was vs bluray copy, even though the PS4 installs the entire game to the HDD anyway, the bluray version is still noticeably slower.
