I hadn't realized how much faster Digital download was vs bluray copy, even though the PS4 installs the entire game to the HDD anyway, the bluray version is still noticeably slower.

Does it install it automatically? I bought the physical version of NHL 15, and the game audio was skipping at first. I haven't noticed it since - so maybe it installed it without me knowing?

All PS4 games install directly to the hard drive, they only use the disc for making sure you actually own the game. But apparently that is enough to cause it to be slower than the download version.

It's one reason i'm going all digital this time around, especially after seeing those results.

Not worth it to me to go all digital. 7 second faster load times on the stock HDD, woop dee doo.
The prices are never good enough to go digital. By the time I get to some games they are $25-$30 on craigslist, I'd rather save $25 and get my ass off the couch to swap a disc for that much difference.

I can see buying games that only come out once every 3-4 years digital because you get your money's worth out of them and psn arcade games.

I have a small digital library. Trials fusion and pure pool, I did pre order lbp3 digital tho but that's a every 3 year game so far.

Going all digital on a console just doesn't make sense to me, but I do play sports games and shooters which are basically worthless after the new one comes out since they are annual releases.

I only buy games I know i'm going to play, I don't have time to buy games just to have another game, I currently have 4 games. Dynasty warriors 8, Call of duty ghosts, Trials fusion, and Destiny. All are digital download. (not even sure if they have disc copies of trials fusion...)

I also got them all the day they came out, wouldnt have mattered on price if I had gone in store.

To each their own, but for this generation I doubt I will be buying any discs.

I don't remember changing anything and my ps4 controller shuts itself off *shrugs*

I swear I had to change the settings, I was use to the xbone turning it off. I didn't even think to change them, figured that would of been something they built in to the software

I feel the same way. Price is usually much slower to drop as the game ages over retail. There are early PS4 titles still going for full MSRP on there. Infamous: Second Son is $60 on PSN right now versus $30 on Amazon with free shipping. MLB: The Show is $70 versus $56 on Amazon. That's a big difference.

If you're willing to wait a couple months, you can get brand new disc copies substantially cheaper, and you have the option to sell or trade the game when you're done with it.

If they had prices like steam sales the shit could take off but we know that isn't gonna happen since console gamers are use to paying $60 + tax for a game.

Steam has a bit more competition to deal with. They're like the Walmart of gaming. They make their money on volume sales.

PSN on the other hand is a monopoly. Sony is free to charge whatever they want. You're paying for the convenience. Though PS+ remains a very good deal. Mind you, I've noticed the quality of titles has dropped a bit in the last few months.

I think you just have to be smart today. There's not much point in buying games right when they launch.

yes there is - to play them.

Smart arse. :sneaky:

I play mostly single player or local multiplayer, so there isn't a huge reason why I can't wait a few months for the price to come down. I guess if it's something like Destiny and you want to get into the community early on. Even then I can't see it falling off that quickly unless the game completely sucks.

im with you on waiting MOST of the time. I play mostly single player on PC, so no problem being 6+ months behind, plus you get the added bonus of knowing which games are really worth getting. But if its something all my friends are getting and were gonna play online, then I have no problem paying full price right away.

I'm thinking of getting one so I can just hook it to a tv I have sitting in the closet in my bedroom. This way I can play my ps4 games in my room if someone is using the living room tv.

This is my main motivation too, I want to put it on my den TV so I can use a PS4 in either the living room or den. The other features are just icing.

Yea and hopefully the Mic that plugs into the controller is working and emulated properly too. It's the main reason I want one since I don't play vita games anyway. They did not specify if pre orders are needed.

For the most part, it would be sitting with that second tv not being used but it's a good device to have because you don't need to move the console.
