Surprised it's that little. That Sony can make a profit, or at least break even, at $399 is really good for them. It means they will be able to lower prices in the future if they need, as costs come down.

I wonder what the XB1 costs, though. It could be no more than this. The hardware is inferior, but it comes with a Kinect--though there is no way in hell that costs $100 to make. No way at all.

I read somewhere it is like $60 to make the Kinect.

Kinect2.0 is a very nice piece of hardware for what it can do! See if a developer can take advantage of it. Just being able to measure your heartbeat with micro fluctuations of your skin gives you an idea of it's accuracy!

An Xbone tear-down would help figure it out. I for one would like to know why it's such a monstrosity, especially with an external PS. The PS4 is a couple hardback books stacked together and its PS is internal.

I guess an HDMI IN is ginormous.

My network has been somewhat slow too, taking almost 30 minutes to download Netflix and Vudu. Then I left for dinner, and an hour later, Contrast (2.4GB iirc) was done.

Resogun is a pretty decent mindless shooter, especially once I figured out what to do. Contrast seems alright, but it currently plays like ass with slowdowns and lagginess, and for no good reason because it doesn't look that great.

Played Knack for about a half hour, seems decent, good one to pass on to my son. Killzone and Madden come in today.

Overall, I think the system is pretty smooth and snappy, and the controller is awesome. I like it :D

I'm surprised that you've been having issues with the PSN. My only issue was logging in on launch day. Once I got in, I had excellent download times for Resogun and Contrast. A matter of a few minutes and both were downloaded. I was rather shocked considering the heavy load I'm sure it was under.

As for the noise issue.... I placed it vertically and it's now virtually silent. The feet on the system are too short IMO, causing the system to heat up.

the fan draws in from the side so the bottom really should not have much to do with it, however i agree that the feet are too short. its one of the first things i noticed when i set it up. i got some 1/4" stick on feet the next day and stuck them on it,

would be interesting if thats why i have not seen any heat or fan issues and mine runs pretty quiet

i gotta be pretty near the end of knack. i might have time to finish it up tonight. it definitely is starting to feel more repetitive now, but i'm still having fun. it's a fun solid launch title, but if it was out later on, i bet it wouldnt get a 2nd look from anyone. it kind of reminds me of kameo for 360 at launch, as far as the fun meter goes for me.

I finished my first play through and part if a second one. Once I unlocked Vampire Knack, I started with that. It's ridiculously tough with that character, even on "easy".

Just have to say I'm feeling a little smug over the people who talked smack about Knack and then ended up liking it and playing that game more than anything else. :awe:

on the nba live trailer, i had no CLUE that steve nash was steve nash until i watched the comparison video by ign and they pointed out who it was.

i doubt i will ever put knack back in my ps4 once i'm done with it. it's a fun game but 100% forgettable to me. it is starting to feel a bit repetitive to me now but i'm pretty sure i am close to the end by now, and it's been a fun ride.

hahaah raasco. or could it mean that's the only good game at launch?

Am I the only one who downloaded AC4 and didn't play it? How come nobody is talking about that game? I know it's not exclusive, but from the previews, game looks fun, GFX look good.

Probably because it's the 6th Assassin's Creed game. If you played some of the others, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect, just with better graphics than previous console versions. It has a decent (80+) metascore.

Disclaimer: I haven't played Black Flag, but I have played other AC titles.

Sounds like Luigi's Mansion. No launch titles and people started liking this game that nobody should have...xD

IIRC, it uses the same engine as ACIII. So I expect it's the same as the PC version of that game, which looked quite good IMO. Assassin's Creed is becoming a bit of an annual franchise. They usually do a good job so you know what you're getting.

I haven't played it yet, as I bought the disc version. Amazon has been quite slow shipping it to me even though I ordered it well over a month ago. :\

Prime? I ordered when they had the B2G1 three days before the PS4 was released and had it by Friday..

Why don't you guys just download the game instead of buying disc versions?

All PS4 games have requirements now. They must be installed to the HD, and they must be downloadable from PSN.

Black Flag is the first game in the series I haven't bought on release day.

I was not looking forward to it, simply because it seemed more like a cash grab to please the people who liked AC3's sea combat. I wasn't a huge fan, myself, so it didn't appeal to me. I was also concerned about the setting. Islands and small town in the 1700's Caribbean don't exactly scream 'EPIC HEIGHT' to me. I just didn't think the AC game play was very conducive to the setting.

Having said that, I've been renting it from RedBox for the past few weekends. I'm actually enjoying it far more than I expected I would. So much so, that I've been looking at buying it. But I'm reaching the point where I think $60 is just too expensive. If this had launched at $39.99, I probably would have bought it day one. Now, I'll wait until it goes on sale for $34.99, maybe on BF I'll pick it up.

I enjoy collecting. Physical copies are also transferable and have a tangible value. They work anywhere any time and aren't locked to any system or account.

I like seeing $3000 in video games on a shelf. The same $3000 spent on digital downloads is worth $0 and disappears if you sell your system or cancel your account.

FIFA has a demo! Gotta search for it though.

Ah, so I guess I need to search for the demos specifically. I only saw the games for purchase and no separate area just for demos like there used to be.

Yeah I was thinking this as well. I played for another hour or two last night and had a blast with it, but I can't imagine there will be much in the way of replay value.

I prefer to have physical discs. I mean I'm a guy that still buys all of his movies in physical format and I don't plan on changing that any time soon.

yeah i have absolutely no desire to ever have a digital version of a game or movie if it's available on physical media.

As long as digital games cost the same as physical games, have more restrictions, and are non transferable, no dice.

$10-15 per game tops if they expect me to just walk away from my investment and treat it as disposable like a movie ticket. I won't pay $60 for something that is intangible and worth $0 the instant I check out.

Its laughable how greedy the industry has become with their push for digital and expecting people to shell out thousands of dollars to build a full price digital game library that they are just supposed to walk away from if they sell their system or don't renew their account.
