should I pick up another 670 and sli or just get a ps4? It seems like even with dual 7970s bf4 looks only marginally better on pc :(

The difference between console and PC on ultra is much more jarring than that video since YouTube compresses too much. Even still you can see the difference in detail immediately even from that video.

I would rather have a ps4 right now. I would not invest any money in a gtx670. If you were going high end then maybe.

Also many people tell me that bf4 is horribly optimized for pc is that true?

I didn't pre-order a bundle though, when I pre-ordered my PS4 they didn't have bundles up yet. I did however, pre-order BF4 about 3 days later so maybe that's why.

Probably going to get Knack and AC4, the rest of the available titles don't interest me at all.

You should still qualify for their promo Tuesday. It's now open to all amazon customers. My local target only had cod for ps4.

I dont find that to be the case. It seems to run fine. It is more demanding than BF3 and a lot of people just expect it to run the same as BF3 which is just not possible.

Get a ps4 cause it'll have more games. I think a 670 is too old to invest in at this point. Try to wait it out.

If they were showing gameplay differences that would matter. Still you can easily see the difference in texture clarity between the PC and ps4.

yeah as you should, considering its more powerful. i bet if you showed a slow-mo video between the ps4 and ps3 video you'd also see a noticeable difference.

the slow-mo part is just retarded. show it in the fashion you will actually be playing it in at full speed, not in slow-mo.

how is a 670 too old to invest in sli? It's roughly a year old haha..sli 670s stomp the 290x

I would not get a 670 right now. Wait it out and maybe go for a 290x non reference model when they come out. I'm glad I didn't get a 670 when I bought my 7970ghz because I had to choose and my sapphire card is doing great.

so you suggest selling my current 670 and buying a 290x? I could sell it for $225 and then spend $300 more for the 290x..but then it would have only cost me $225 for 670 sli..which is faster than a 290x?

If you can sell it you should while the price is good. I'm not sure if in sli mode it will be faster than a non reference 290x. I always go for the top model at the best price I can afford to pay.

Cause of the limited memory. You asked and I am telling you what I would do.

Sli will be faster but you are limited by the vram. The only thing that makes sense to me is a 3GB or 4GB card.

but why sell it if its cheaper to sli 670 with performance that beats the 290x?

also I'm playing on a 1080p screen..is the 4gb from two 2gb 670s too little?

You dont have 4GB you only have 2GB. It is on the edge even at 1080p yes. Crysis 3 and BF4 almost bounce off the 2GB limit.

1080 it's fine. I think the 290x could be faster than 2 670's. Especially when the new AIB boards come out. Check some benchmark graphs for sli on your card compared to a 290x and see if it's a difference you would be interested in.

Yes the sli or crossfire shares memory of the primary card. So you will get increased visuals but you will be limited in games that require more than 2gb of vram, especially at higher than 1080p.

It won't be. Look at the benchmarks of the 290x vs a gtx690(basically sli 670 performance). The 690 is clearly faster at 1080 & 1440. You will just be limited with msaa due to the vram.

I still think a ps4 is a better purchase when everything is considered.

Yea I would go with a ps4 or xb1. You will get more use of it when playing games that you may not want to play on pc if you don't want to upgrade.

I'm waiting for custom 290x to come out and I'll check benches. If I can get 50% more improvement over my current card I'll update. If not, I'll wait until the 20nm cards are out.

I was playing Batman origins with msaa x8 everything maxed and it was decent. I only had minor slowdowns on the firefly battle.

why is a ps4 the best option?

More games, no worrying about memory limit on GPU, no need to worry about games not running correctly.

I do have sli 670s but I purchased these when they released. I would not recommend anyone go with 2GB cards now. There is no issue with 2GB now at normal single monitor resolutions but some games do hit the limit at certain settings. You would be better served IMO to wait it out for 20nm cards if you are not going to be buying high end (780 or 290).
