So, after all this "Knack is so last gen!" blabber, I decided to go to Gamestop tonight and check it out. Honestly, I don't see what you guys are talking about. The game has a more cartoony look, so it isn't as easy to compare it to other games, but it certainly has a sharp, crisp look. You can tell the normal gameplay models have higher polygons than you're used to.
The game can also be quite hard, but I think the biggest problem that I had (while playing on Hard) was how unresponsive the dodging was. I felt like the character was this huge tank-like beast that was chugging along. I think I would prefer it if the character moved at a lot faster of a pace... especially when you can only take three hits before you die. I had to fight against these weird goop shooters, and one problem that I had was that I would use the jump ball dash on them, but the would shoot goop right in front of them. Since Knack lacks air dodging manuevers, I would end up falling right into the goop.
It was on a small raised area, so I didn't have too many options in my attack orientation.
Yup got my target ad tonite. But the street dates are wrong. Wal-Mart only had ghosts available for ps4.
It looks like that ad is also mentioning the Buy Two Get One Free deal as I can't see the part on the left, but I see the asterisk stating that it must be separate titles. That was supposedly the restriction on that deal, so that sounds legit.
I'll probably just get Killzone, Knack and I'm not sure what the third should be. If Need for Speed is good, I may get that or get Battlefield 4 and sell it.
I was thinking of getting a 290x too but I want to get a non reference model.
The only problem is that it sounds like they won't be available until next year.
I was going to build my brother a PC, but I decided to cheap out and just get him a good video card (and maybe a nice monitor to go with it). The 290 and 290X are certainly good options, but I want a quieter one (like an ASUS DirectCU II or Gigabyte Windforce).
Well, preorder officially canceled. I think my new 290 will hold me off until the Xbox One now.
I can't really blame you. Sony lost a lot of the variance in their AAA launch titles. I was thinking about that Hadouken Cabs video earlier, and it would make sense for Sony to try to push for exclusivity. Microsoft has Killer Instinct for their new console, but Sony has absolutely no fighters. While fighters aren't the most popular, it does add that variance that I mentioned earlier.
It would be interesting to see what sells more... Killer Instinct or Street Fighter. The prior has a lot of nostalgia, but the latter is arguably more popular.
