I think 8GB of RAM is the main thing that's going to allow them to really push things for quite a long time.
Most PC games use up to 3GB VRAM absolute max, and less than 5GB system RAM.

8GB total RAM will allow developers to throw lots of high res textures etc around without caring at all.

Wow. Its a damn PC. Game devs are going to love it.

8GB of GDDR5 Unified Ram is huge too.

Yep, going unified memory is huge. The 256/256 split for PS3 was stupid and its why multi-platform games typically looked better on 360.

8gig GDDR5 is nuts. MS is shitting themselves if they're only planning for 4GB.

Built-in Live Streaming is interesting, but they also need to support imaging so people can put logos in for their clan or sponsor(s).

Ya i was more 360 then ps3 for sure and had both since launch, i am pretty excited after seeing this though. Will be huge.

"If we can predict the next game that you will buy, it can be loaded and ready to go before you buy it."

Unless they simply load up all the free Playstation Plus games, that sounds like a huge waste of bandwidth. 😛

They should allow you to create clan / team and options to setup a league with full schedule W/L record standings, etc. That would be cool.

Finally developers can move forward and we can get out of this 7 year slump of developing for lowest common denominator. This is just as exciting for PC gamers IMO.

As a PC gamer, I'm really impressed with what they've shown so far. 8GB DDR5 memory and an x86 processor? Yes! Imagine how much more efficient porting and cross-platform development will be (compared to the PS3).

Someone above me already said it, but: Microsoft is probably shitting their pants right now.

Doesn't GDDR5 have significantly higher latencies than DDR3? IIRC that's why it is never used as main system memory in the PC market...
