The relevance is that the GNex on Sprint hasn't receive an update since January when it was on 4.2.1. It is finally getting updated to 4.3 when 4.4 and a new device is about to drop. 😛

For a carrier locked device, that's what you have to expect.

Relevant insofar as this may push me over the edge to get the Nexus 5 over the LG G2. This is what happens to carrier locked devices - it takes FOREVER to get updates. It's the same with my Galaxy S3 (and even the S4) -- they're both getting updates to 4.3 in the next month (currently, my S3 is on 4.1.2), but that's of course right on the doorstep of 4.4.

No one said it had to be today anyway. Most likely the rumors are correct, but this wouldn't be the first time a rumored date was incorrect. I think you guys are getting to the point where you think you're entitled an announcement at whatever time you'd like.

Blog links to the device are broken. I am excited for this but only a little because i wont be able to use this on verizon unless they surprise everyone.

Probably intentional to avoid the rush to the pages causing a crash.

Or the pages crashed because of a rush to the pages.

In the store now! Just purchased mine. Leaves warehouse November 5 in Canada.
