Most definitely buried. Right-click on the Nvidia applet in the system tray, choose Nview Desktop Manager and nView Properties. Choose the Hotkeys tab and click the plus sign to expand Display Mode. When you find the function you want to assign (Cycle HDTV formats might help your other problem), click on it and press the Add button. Then assign the keystroke and choose OK.
For remembering 1080i, you might try fiddling with the nView profiles but I'm pretty much a complete newb when it comes to this stuff.
Case mods can be cool, but so can the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" maxim. Unless you have noticed a specific problem, I'd say don't tempt the fates by FIDdling with stuff that might break the warranty.
Zalman Coolers.
I am debating between the 7000b-cu and the 7700-cu for this board.
First of all any thoughts/experience on the heavy weight slightly warping this board (I've heard of such cases, the 7700-cu is more than 2 pounds).
Also can someone who already has either of these coolers tell me how much clearance there is between the heatsink and the ram cause from the first post I understand that it actually sits over the first slot and I wanna know if it will fit with ram that has a heatspreader.

I have the 7700AlCu. The clearance on RAM is fine. I am able to remove/install all slots no problem. I'm using Corsair XMS with heat spreader. You need to tilt the RAM a little when you are installing/removing memory in slot 1.
Anyway, I think the fan come with Zalman is loud, even with lowest setting, so I replace it with a quieter one (NEXUS 120mm). I think if you are noise sensitive (like me), it might be better off buying something else like Thermalright XP-90 or XP-120 and pick the quiet fan yourself. According to silentPCReview.com, the performance is better than Zalman and easier to install.
If you don't mind about the noise, Zalman is fine. It also comes with speed controller.

It is completely beyond my understanding how such a low result the reviewer obtained.
Hmmm. I'm going to try this tonite. I have a nagging video problem that could be related to CnQ. Every so often, my MCE screen goes blank after I play an HD video. It happened after a clip was played and even the built-in calibration video in the Settings area, the video with 2 guys/2 gals playing pool. Anyway, the machine is mostly nonfunctional, except that I can hit the Windows key on the kb and the bottom taskbar pops up, but nothing else happens. I thought it might be a problem caused by the Forceware mce extension driver (version 77.79) since I couldn't get a DVD window to pop up when you change De-interlacing or VRM mode. Also this is very confusing about the forceware versions. 77.79 sounds like an old version. But when you go to the nvidia MCE extensions pg, it points to 77.79 -- not 81.98, not 84.21, and no explanation for any of this $&%#. Does anyone know about this?

Update: I tried turning off CnQ - and yes indeed, that was the culprit! It was also causing TV to stutter every 10 seconds or so. Sort of like a build up, then TV would catchup and do a FF of the video. Strange. Any fix for this?

Building was effortless and worked first time. I could access the BIOS with just Win XP installed but after installing Vista CTP on the 2nd partition, I can no longer get into the BIOS. <DEL> is ignored - I guess this is a feature of Vista's new BIOS management?? Does anyone know how to get into the BIOS when the Vista boot manager is installed?
(I am using a Microsoft wireless USB keyboard if that makes a difference).

I guess DirectX 9.0c is included in the Windows XP SP2 CD, but I don't know if it is installed automatically. Somebody else who installed WinXP with the SP2 CD may answer this question. If you want to check the version number of DirectX in your system, use dxdiag.exe located in C:\Windows\system32.

Just a wild guess.
See the first post of this thread. Search for "Maxtor". There are some compatilbility issues that need jumper change.
This might also applies to your WD too.

Hi. I already have an Opteron 165 and it can get to 2.4 gigs on a little over stock volts. Probably 2.3 on stock, and I was wondering would the foxconn board you recommended for ocing be able to get 265-270 fsb speeds easily?
Also, do you think the 200 mhz increase I would get by maxing out the cpu would be worth it to get a board with worse peripherals and more issues? What are your thoughts about what I should do with my opteron 165? O and the onboard graphics don't matter to me. I have a 7900 gt ready to go. So if there's a board thats better in everything, but has worse onboard graphics let me know.
O one last thing, is the MSI board like guarenteed to hit 250 mhz? If not what are the chances that i get one that can?

I finally fixed my S3 resume problem using my USB devices. I couldn't get the computer to some out of S3 using my infared receiver, which was kind of a pain.
By inserting the registry key...

I am trying to set up Raid on the K8NGM2-FID with 2 WD Raptor X's and my problem is that I can configure the raid in bios but when I hit F10 to configure the array, I can select the drives for the array and chose to stripe the drives. When I've finished setting that up and exit out to the main screen it shows the array but I am unable to set the boot option for the array. the "" boot option at the bottom of the screen is grayed out so I'm at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong. I know there's nothing wrong with the drives because I was successfully running these drives in Raid 0 on my Shuttle SN25P. I'm also using a Plextor PX-716SA DVD-RW plugged into the SATA 3 connector. The bios of my MB is 3.20. Can anyone give me a clue as to what is causing this problem?

Hey, how come you only recommend the Foxconn for overclocking? What makes it better than the Tforce6100-939 or DFI? Is it just because your only comparing 6150 boards?
