with E3 less than a week away i thought we could start an e3 thread here and build up some hype to the show. i personally haven't been as excited about an e3 event as i am about this one in a long long time - obviously due to the ps4 and xbox1 coming out this year. so we get to (hopefully) see a lot of new games for the consoles.

i was just browsing the e3 section at ign and came across this video.

http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/06/04/5-things-we-dont-want-at-this-years-e3-microsoft-conference

it was pretty amusing to watch, and i agree with most of the points. but i also think that we will see more cod and more tv stuff from ms. i also am anxious to see what the 15 exclusives they are going to release by the end of this year. i just hope it isn't 15 sequels to existing franchises.

i also am anxious to see what nintendo has to show game wise. if they show something that looks like a mario 64 sequel then i will be picking up a wii-u whenever it comes out.

there have also been rumors of street fighter 5 being thrown around, so i'd be pretty excited if we saw a glimpse of that as well.

I'm looking forward to E3, pity that I am not in the USA. Probably will watch youtube videos and follow some blogs on it.

Didn't they say at the reveal that they had 15 exclusives, and 8 of them were new IP's?

I think it is way too soon for SF5 to be coming out. It took 10 years from 3rd Strike to SF4. I don't think Capcom will release an entirely new SF. Maybe Super Street Fighter 4 Turbo, but I don't think a whole new iteration.

Hoping to see some new IPs for both next gen systems and, hopefully, some decent exclusives with actual gameplay footage. Probably going to hear more about CoD: Ghosts as well.

I am worries it will be many games that force kinect usage and simply timed exclusives they pay for.
This is also a concern of mine. If that is the case, it will just make my decision on which console to jump on first a lot easier.

I don't see a lot of developers getting behind the Kinect as a requirement to play. Sure, they might throw in a few gimmicks like voice commands and the like, but I just don't think developers not specifically targeting that audience will bother.

It has been a long time since I have really looked forward to E3. I am really looking forward to seeing what Nintendo shows off, we know they have quite a few games in the work for the Wii U. Sony same deal. MS, I really don't care at this point but I want to see just for the trainwreck factor.

That may be true for third party developers, but what about the first party ones? If they are owned by MS, and MS wants Kinect in their games, guess what is going to happen?

I dont see a trainwreck happening, they know what needs to be done at this point. Games, clear up used game talk, and price point. But i have been wrong before, I expecting 2 Kinect titles that are included in the Exclusive list, Fantasia: Music Evolved and that Rome game Crytec was making.

I am looking forward to what MS is going to show us. They literally told us nothing about the games in the reveal so my expectations are pretty high on their conference.

For Sony, I just want The Last Guardian and I'll be happy. WTF ever happened to Agent?
I just saw this on another forum:

Why they do this?

Scheduling conflict my ass
As much time and money as I have invested in MS during this generation, I really do want to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best. But little things like this just seem to keep happening and it has me worried. The worst part is, no matter how bad they screw up, I have several really good friends that won't even look at the PS4 because they are, in their own words, "married to the Xbox".

That is so silly. A new generation the slate is literally wiped clean. It is the easiest time to move switch platforms if you are only staying on one. Those friends aren't really any different than how one spouse stays with another even though they continually abuse them.

And what if those friends purchased 5 years of Xbox Live? Even at $30 a year, that is quite a bit of money to just throw away to not be married to a generation. Especially, considering the "outrage" people are complaining about mostly is related to being online. That wouldn't effect someone using Xbox Live subscription, because they would be online anyway.

I literally lol'd at the analogy at the end. To be fair, most of those friends are people I met a long time ago on Xbox, so I am sure I could meet some cool people on the PS4. Maybe even get some of the people on this forum to play with. I know I told all my friends that I will be going in to E3 without any preconceived opinions on next generation and look at both companies with an open mind. Hell, last gen I was a huge sony guy and only jumped on Xbox because of the initial price and because a guy I used to play games with was getting one.

I'd bite the bullet and lose a few years of live already paid for to never have to pay for online gaming/features on a competitors console. Why would I want to dig a deeper hole. Besides I seriously doubt anyone would purchase more than 1-2 extra years of live at that.

They could also keep their 360 and continue to use live on that if they truly wanted too because it will still be needed there as well.
