yeah that is true. if you NEVER buy used games, never sell them, don't ever rent them, don't ever borrow or lend out games, don't ever take your console somewhere that you don't have internet but want to play it, and have reliable internet at home, then nothing will really be changing at all from the 360 to the x1.

TBH all of that applies to me however i will avoid the X1 like the plague because of what it is on general principles

Forgetting all the doom and gloom that people are preaching about our hobby, I am just excited about today. I hope we have some awesome suprises announced. I just want someone to give me a reason to buy one of these systems day one.

it would be AWESOME if microsoft came out and was like "oh yeah, by the way, all new games will be on sale for $30 this gen instead of $60."

but we all know that is just crazy talk and would never ever happen.

yeah i agree. the majority of it applies to me as well, other than the rental thing. but if x1 is like this, what is the NEXT ms console going to be like? it will only get worse so i'm not sure if i want to support it too.

but all of this can change depending what games are coming out for it. at the end of the day, all i want is good games. and if there are good games, i will get it.

That's the shitty thing. I just want good games and enjoy the Xbox platform, so if I see what I like and get it, will I have to hear nothing but negativity in threads about the console for the next 6-8 years?

Of course. This is the internet. People who dislike something spend as much time as possible obsessing over it. The Diablo 3 thread gets the occasional "omg this game sucks" post every once in awhile. And pretty much any game that has anything to do with being online, someone brings up how "bad" Blizzard has become and how "awful" Diablo 3 was.

Get ready for it. Because even if the Xbox One sells more units in a month than the PS2 did in it's lifetime, you are still going to have to hear how bad it is and how MS is a failure at everything they do.

Yes and it will be well deserved because you are catering to the downfall. Let's put it this way: This is a stepping stone. If they succeed, the next gen will be even worse. This gen isn't about games, it's about control.

There are people who actually care about choices. Ahhh, to be young and naive. The view is pretty much like people who are like "take my freedoms just as long as I can have my TV because I'm doing nothing wrong." It all revolves around the same thing. People too lazy to care or see the big picture.

I'm not young at all. I am just saying that I want the best games. If MS comes out and shows off a ton of exciting exclusives (which I personally doubt will happen) then I want to play them. I truly do hope that Sony doesn't follow in these footsteps, because it would make it rather easy to go with them out the gate next generation.

I'm excited for this conference from Microsoft but they are going to have to drop some megatons for me to even consider buying the One.

Are we really going to stick with one mass E3 thread and not individual conference threads like in years' past? I'd create one for Microsoft since it starts in the next few minutes, but don't want any eye rolls my way...

So apparently it was all shens. MS is saying the Xbox One was a ruse and revealing their true next gen wide open console with home dev apps!!!

"It's just like a PC, but with the Xbox, we can do things your PC can't do: Like hook it to your TV! (whisper whisper)...oh...they can do that? Really? How? Ohh...well...we can stream Netflix, oh..they have that too. Well we can play games, let's see the PC try that...oh..they can do that too? Can we get it removed in Windows 8?"
