And what if those friends purchased 5 years of Xbox Live? Even at $30 a year, that is quite a bit of money to just throw away to not be married to a generation. Especially, considering the "outrage" people are complaining about mostly is related to being online. That wouldn't effect someone using Xbox Live subscription, because they would be online anyway.

I've had Xbox live for 7 years, but if the PS4 was the better option for me, I wouldn't have any problem jumping over there. I don't do brand loyalty, as that will only hurt the person unwilling to look at the big picture rather than sticking with the only thing they know.

I'd bite the bullet and lose a few years of live already paid for to never have to pay for online gaming/features on a competitors console. Why would I want to dig a deeper hole. Besides I seriously doubt anyone would purchase more than 1-2 extra years of live at that.

They could also keep their 360 and continue to use live on that if they truly wanted too because it will still be needed there as well.

I am going in with the mentality that I am buying both and will most likely only play the exclusives on the PS4 (and possibly fighting games, if tournys end up using them). Xbox Live this gen was such a better service than PSN and most of my friends will probably stick with it. That just means the multiplatform games I grab will be for Xbox.

Unless one of them pulls a Nintendo and has 2 launch titles and no games incoming for 6+ months after, I don't see me not buying them both.

I bought 8 years of Xbox Live at once. Well, technically, the BX on the base I was stationed had a bunch of the original Xbox starter kits (came with 12 months and a mic) for around $7 each, so I bought quite a few. Sold some codes on Ebay and stocked up on my account.

I guess I am not as invested in it as some could be, but even then, if I never used Xbox Live again, it would be throwing away that money spent.

I would love to get both consoles out the gate, but with finally starting college in the fall, I know my time will be limited. There is no reason in spending $1,000 when launch titles will most likely be limited. Hell, I may wait so I can see if Sony makes good on their promises about their network and so I can try the new controller out and that way I can wait and make sure the launch consoles on the MS side aren't a total mess again. Especially after the reports of the issues they are having right now.

CBOAT is really reputable. He brings A LOT of info in way ahead of time and he is right about just about everything he reports.

He types the way he does so that it doesn't come up in searches and to protect himself.

From what I've seen, if he says it is true, then there is a 99% chance it is.

Sounds like they're just airing the Microsoft and EA panels then. That probably isn't surprising given EA's presence at the X1 launch event.

I got tired of being nickeled and dimed for standard features on Xbox. Netflix behind a pay wall ended my Xbox play. I've only played the forza games on it over the last 3 years. PS4 is probably going to be in my media center this gen. Too bad gran turismo 6 is PS3. I hope rock star announces gta5 for next gen.

They try to hide behind the comment, I'm a gamer so yes I'll be buying it, but there comes a time when you need to stand up for things.

Why is it sad if none of that stuff actually effects them? The last time I was without internet was years ago. I can't remember the last used game I bought, because it was probably for SNES. Really, the major "issues" with the Xbox One don't effect me. I already am okay with paying for Live. I hardly think MS is going to spy on me, at least not as much as the NSA already does. yeah that is true. if you NEVER buy used games, never sell them, don't ever rent them, don't ever borrow or lend out games, don't ever take your console somewhere that you don't have internet but want to play it, and have reliable internet at home, then nothing will really be changing at all from the 360 to the x1.

that is probably a small portion of all gamers but there are definitely a lot that i'm sure fall into that category.
