oh lol i didn't even realize i linked the gameshark link hah. but yeah, they are one in the same. i'm still checking daily to see when it gets to amazon or gamestop, and so far, nothing.

gamestop is supposed to be getting them, they just haven't heard anything about it yet. markman has confirmed both amazon and gamestop will be getting them. i have called 2 gamestops last week on dfiferent days and they didn't know about them yet. and the guy told me that they basically will find out about the preorders in an email that they receive in the morning of the day they can start taking preorders for them.

No Gamestops I've been to had the original TEs. I know online you could order them, but the local stores I've been never got any in stock.

I'd still prefer Amazon though. Local pickup would be nice, but I can get release day delivery with Amazon anyway, along with no sales tax or shipping.

you live in the boonies or something heh? they were definitely in stock around here. they were also at best buy.

i'd prefer amazon as well, for the same reasons you mentioned. i'm currently using the one from madcatz store as my backup in case i can't snag one on launch day from amazon or locally at gamestop.
 
When I was looking for TEs, I was in Montgomery (which despite having 350,000+ people in the metro area might as well be the boonnies).

The Gamestops around here might have them, but I'd rather not chance it.

yeah man, in a way i wish they didn't show so much of KI because there really won't be any surprises, and watching all of this makes it that much harder to wait. i don't think i have been this excited for a console launch since n64 and mario 64 to be honest. i feel like i'm 14 years old again waiting out one more month lol.

and the thing is, that vid isn't even in 60fps. it looks that much better in 60fps. there is so much detail and polish to the game. it's not anything that is groundbreaking of leaps and bounds over current gen, but there is no way this game could be possible looking like this with all the detail on current gen.
 
Subwoofer will get a workout and did Jago say Shoryuken or Haduken or something close to it when he does the uppercut move at 1:48? lol
 
he just spews a buncha jibberish (as in, stuff i can't understand and "kung fu" noises) as he's doing a lot of moves in general. i don't think that move is one of his finishers but is one of his sword slicer moves. i think he fell out of the combo because the combo meter was at the end (as you can see by that meter growing and goes into the blinking red) and the guy didn't do an actual ender.

i know his fireball is called endokuken though, which is kinda familiar to hadouken.

After watching Sadira vs. Glaicious, I think I can accept Sadira as my Cinder replacement until they finally add him. Mostly just because her combo breaker is the exact same flip kick (visually at least), so I figure it's fitting. 😛

Probably the best part about it is where it modifies the music to the ultra combo hits.

what it also doesn't mention, is that with the $20+ editions you get early access to the upcoming characters 7 and 8 as well, since it only launches with 6 chars.
 
It's also good to keep in mind that the matrix reports the free version (Round One) as having a revolving character. All stuff that I've seen up until now has only mentioned Jago as being free.

When they say there is no story mode, do the mean like no single player at all and you can only fight against other people online? Or just as in no story based mode but you can still fight vs AI chars?

yeah it's rotating like every 3 months or so i believe, so that people who don't want to buy it can at least try out other roster characters.

i don't think they have clarified that yet as far as single player mode goes, but i think there isn't a single player mode other than training mode at all. the single player should be out early next year though, and will be free of course. since MS rushed them to get this out before launch, they didn't want to focus a lot of resources on that and they wanted to be sure they got the core engine down where they wanted it because that is most important.
 
LOL, threads like this convince me to get a PS4, since I can't compete in KI. I'm convinced I need to spend money on a fight stick just to suck a little less 😀
 
just watched that raw video again and man, i'm LOVING how aggressive/offensive this game looks. you really don't see anyone ever just standing around doing nothing like you tend to see in most fighting games, where people are waiting for an opportunity to get in. it looks like if you are the aggressor, you WILL get in on someone. but then again, it could also be because we've hardly seen people play this game yet and work many strategies.

Yeah, everything I've seen seems to favor rushdown, but that could just be because we haven't seen any real zoning characters. I prefer rushdown though, so that works for me.

glacius is their zoning archetype, so even their zoning guys can get in on you and mess you up.

I don't see how you are convinced to get a ps4 because you aren't that great at fighters or at least you don't think you would be good at this specific one. Its not as if the xb1 is killer instinct only. Also, if the new dpad is solid you may not need a stick at all to be competitive. There are some good players in other games who use the standard controller.
