fulgore seems hard to pickup. I've spentr the last 30minutes trying to mess with his combos and stuff and while his moves are awesome, a lot of his openers knock opponents away just slightly so you have to time your dash in to continue the combo. I haven't been able to get past 5 hits in a row yet outside of a shadow move thrown in. Ultra seems hard to land cause of this too.

not sure what you mean. if you hit with his slide opener it doesn't push you far away or anything, you are right next to them and can auto double. auto doubles pull you next to your oponent, manuals don't though.

i landed a 91 hit double ultra online with him in my first match in a lobby as him heh.

i just played a nice set against another fulgore and went 8-4 against him. starting to get a hang of him slightly, although i still keep doing wrong moves all the time.

the oddest part about him is you have to charge to get the shadow meter. you don't just get it from hitting people. but holy shit, his instinct mode is crazy. when in instinct mode your nuclear meter fills up really fast and you can land like 4-5 shadow moves in one combo, so if your opponent gets locked out, you can do some massive damage. i won a match landing a counter breaker early in the combo, and then doing a few shadow moves and won with the last hit, a 67% combo.

lobbies are great though. works like a charm and no extra lag or anything.

arcade mode is blah. still not sure how to unlock shadow tiger lair. i beat it on easy and noob and not sure how to unlock it yet. i'm sure the news on how to do it will break soon though.
 
Well when I do what I do with Jago it knocks me out of spacing with the opponent. I am used to jago and just need to practice differently and learn how fulgore functions. It just wasn't easy to pickup and go like a couple other characters are for me. A lot of it is probably because he is a little slower than I am used to. I never played as glacius, thunder, or spinal before either.

Arcade mode is just as I thought, pretty pointless. I did read that there are different endings though but I dunno how you get different ones. I only went through once as jago.

so apparently shadow jago is the hidden boss and i'm not sure how to unlock but it sounds like you have to get the 2nd ending with jago or something. and he has a special set of moves on his own stage, and he has an ultimate combo as well. and once you beat him, they show who the "real" boss is which looks like it won't be around until season 2 i'm guessing.
 
i'm not sure and i don't think anyone knows for sure yet. i'm sure it will be out by today or tomorrow though. i'm guessing it has to do with doing like ultras or something the right amount of times, or getting supreme victories or something of that nature.

the endings are really dumb anyways, at least the 2 i saw (shadow jago, which is just jago in the story, and fulgore).
 
I thought maybe you found some info I didn't have yet. Never hurts to ask. I did see someone on gamefaqs saying they got two different endings with Jago. He called them ending 2 and ending 3 but how he figured out the numbering I don't know. I think he is just guessing.

If you find out how to get different endings please do let us know here. I'll be on the lookout for info myself and will post if I find anything. As lame as the storyline seems(at least the Jago one I got) I would still like to do it.
 
yeah ill let you know. i just want to unlock the shadow lair stage just to have them all. after that i probably won't play arcade mode again.
 
that won't be until season 2 though most likely since DH is done with S1.

but lobbies and fulgore will definitely keep me happy for a while. i think i'm more happy about lobbies just because it's a lot more fun being in a room with a few people and playing "winner stays on" like the old arcade days. i was very pleased with there being no additional lag as well.
 
I mean I will go back to arcade to unlock the boss. He is supposed to be playable and I assume you gotta unlock him/her.
 
yeah i don't know anything about her being unlockable. just that it teases the ARIA character at the very end and basically says she is the real boss. i'm guessing it is just a teaser for season 2 but could be totally wrong.
 
MS said before that the boss will be awesome and playable. We will have to see what happens in the coming months.

In the meantime I will try putting in some time to learn Fulgore better. Awesome character, but I feel like I suck more with him than I should.

yeah but that could be shadow jago, he's the "boss" of arcade mode and is already playable.
 
oh i agree, shadow jago is weak. i don't care about bosses being playable though. it is kinda cool how you can't play as some characters, like goro and motaro and shao kahn and shang tsung from the earlier mk games. it's cool that you always want to use them, but also cool in a sense that you can't.

The best part about Shang Tsung was being able to transform into other characters and use their skills.
 
Wow, hate to bump this one, but I was just wondering if people are still playing this? Is it difficult to get games going?
 
tons of people still play it. i play (well did until son was born 3 weeks ago) every weekend for hours on end. it's still alive and going. cinder comes out very soon as well, they revealed him last week.

and the online netplay cannot be beat. this game has by far the best netcode. it's sad that mkx is so terrible online. i'm going to probably get rid of the game because of that.

Ugh, I was talking with Justin Wong about MKX's netcode while he was and confirms while he was streaming and he said you basically just commit no matter what. The netcode is garbage and hit confirming will result in a dropped combo most of the time.
