Got mine about an hour ago from UPS. Have it restored and setup now. Weird that I still have service on my old phone too.
Well, as much as we hate to admit it, the iPhone 5 did amazingly well in our drop test, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 came out in pretty bad shape. It’s the cold hard truth that we can’t hide and we can’t ignore.
....
The hard aluminum shell of the iPhone 5 withstood the impact pretty well, and the glass protecting the display remained intact. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S3 predictably lost its back cover and suffered damage to the casing and the front glass. Sad, sad, sad.
iPhone 5 fares very well in the drop tests:

Least it might still be working after you hurl it at the wall when it gets you lost.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to downgrade.I'm still more than slightly peeved at what Apple did with the iOS6 upgrade for my iPhone 4. They left out all the cool features that the 4S gets and instead all I have is a bunch of minor problems and a set of maps that seem like a slight downgrade to me.
You took the words right out of my mouth:What I really want is a reasonably sized Android phone running JB
irony to the max
The way Apple does code-signing, and given that I don't have keys for iOS5.1 (I never jailbroke to get them), I think it would require me hacking their encryption... which isn't going to happen. I have neither the skillz nor the patience for it. So, no, I can't downgrade.I'm wondering how hard it would be to downgrade.
There are tons of iPhones in stock. I went during my lunch but they refused to sell me one without activating it in-store.
How messed up is that? Aren't these phones unlocked??? If I am willing to pay full price, shouldn't I be able to walk out with one?

Somebody, please translate. I don't know what that means.1) You would have to confirm, but Apple still may be signing 5.1.1 restores. Usually they keep signing the old version for a little while.
2) You don't need to jailbreak to get your 5.1.1 key. You just plug in your phone and use TinyUmbrella. It works on mac and windows. Takes about 2 seconds. It will attempt to get all SHSH blobs for your phone so it should try 5.1.1 and 6. You don't need to be running 5.1.1 to get your 5.1.1 blob.
