Negative. And I'll tell you why. Because under a Paul-led America, there's more freedom, more liberty, more individualism. That's why there are strippers and hookers, and Catholics, and everyone under the whole goddamned hood who support him. It's diverse. Freedom unites. Paul would rather you see the world as you wish, rather than be told what to see.

"I don't want to run your life, I don't want to run the economy and I don't want to run the world." - Paul

?We have had presidents who have tried to do too much,? he said. ?How can I run for office and say I want to be a weak president? We need a strong president, strong enough to resist the temptation of taking power the President shouldn?t have.? - Paul

The prejudices against RP are based in reality.

Many of Ron Pauls supporters are fanatical and loony, yourself included (see fed link in sig). Sorry, abolishing the Federal Reserve is supported by about .1% of the population. Name one mainstream, recognized economist that supports it.

Murray Rothbard

Until you read an analysis by Murray Rothbard, you really have no clue what the argument against the Federal Reserve is. Yeah, not many people support the idea, but what the hell does that mean? Most people will rather read about Britney Spears' latest stint than read something political.

Most people have no idea how economics works these days. I don't care if 50% of the population supported Ron Paul abandoning the Federal Reserve in favor of the gold standard. That doesn't make it a good idea. In fact, I'd say that modern economics are so far beyond most of our population (myself included) that why can't we leave it to the experts?

Unless one has a PhD in economics and some peer-reviewed publications, why should one's opinion count for anything? Why should it even be entertained?

A better argument was that the current method has had decades of success, even if it's not the best choice it has at least proven its viability.
Besides, if the Fed is wrong, then the entire stock market is f-ed up to all hell.

And morons like you (including Jediyoda, Mill, Cadsortaguy, CitizenKain, and a host of others) spam your continuous stream of hatred calling anyone who does support him a retard. How are you any different? Because you support [insert shitty candidate here]?

I might be wrong, but I don't think I've ever attacked a ron paul supporter on a personal level simply for supporting a different candidate than me.

I've never claimed, say, that anyone who doesn't support Hillary Clinton is too stupid to realize that we need universal health care, because that'd be obviously untrue.

Loki the problem is simple!!
The Ron whats his name supporters are reeling and bitter and besides themselves for many reasons too and including deep down they know this campaign is over.
Also they are mad because they gave their hard earned allowance or lunch money to a losing campaign!
So what do they do now?
Simply put...they attack the messenger instead of the obvious message!
They attack the media for bias and they claim the media or shall we say lack of media support for his demise...
Or even worse the real dies hards are actually stating he made a real good positive showing when almost all the network analysts say its over but he can hang on until super Teusday or whatever that day is and then quietly drop out!!

Yet had the tables been turned Ron whats his name had won IOWA by a landslide we would all have to put up withy even more of this stuff!

As a Ron Paul fan, I'm disappointed that he didn't get more votes in Iowa, but I'm VERY happy Obama took top spot. I would vote for him in a heartbeat over any non-RP GOP candidate.

QFT

I'm still terrified its going to come down to the classic douchebag versus turd fight in the end: Ghouliani versus Billary.

I think Obama will continue to do well - I think people very much want change in the next president. That's something neither Guiliani or Clinton offers.

Does Obama really offer change? Real change?

Politicians have been peddling change for a long time. When they actually do come through, it is often change in the wrong direction.

I'd like to believe he does - at least he is critical of the war. On the democrat side, aside from Kucinich, Obama and Edwards peak my interest the most. I was going to vote democrat in this next election until I found out about Paul. If he doesn't win the nomination, then I'm still voting democrat (just please anyone but Hillary).

Their job is to protect America.

They aren't doing that over there. They know it.

And those troops who DO believe they are protecting America over there are told to "go kill a brown person". Thats great support paulbots!

I support our troops. I do not support war mongers like Palehorse
LOL.. I'm glad most posters here know that's not the case.

Palehorse's condescending attitude toward anyone who doesn't agree with his "Kill em all and let Allah sort em out" view deserves no respect.
I do not have that view at all. I have a very personal connection and love for many Afghan and Iraqi citizens who I have worked with over the last six years. They are some of the bravest and most honorable men I've ever met or worked with.

That said, the ones who need killing will get theirs - regardless of their names, skin colors, or religious affiliation.
Respect for the military in general doesn't mean kissing every individual soldiers ass.
I don't expect to have my ass kissed... or spit upon either.

Having served myself, I fail to see how I could possibly be seen as disrespecting my fellow servicemen.
The two actions are not mutually exclusive. In this case, thank you for your service AND fvck you very much... See how that works?

The biggest disrespect they get are from those who casually throw away their lives for no good reason.
We'll keep fighting, and fix what we've broken over there; and we'll do so in order to honor the memory of those who have sacrificed along the way. Doing anything less would be the equivalent of shitting on their memory and sacrifice.

A lot of what he's saying is truthful - but his proposed "solutions," to many of the most important issues, fail to take reality into account... he essentially sells pipedreams to a young generation who is very willing to buy them; while most older folks know when to walk away from deals that sound too good to be true...

Dismantling the IRS? Excellent! Now, show me using real numbers how you plan to do so... <crickets>....

etc etc...

It's certainly a shame; because yes, many of his ideas sound great... but people need to learn this lesson a some point in their lives: reality is a bitch.

so be it.

As palehorse74 misses the point when he blames just Ron Paul for---Dismantling the IRS? Excellent! Now, show me using real numbers how you plan to do so... <crickets>....

Earth to palehorse--earth to palehorse74, hate to tell you but the current Republican front runner, a fellow named Huckabee has the same exact idea. And if thats the way we go, Paul has a better idea how to pay for it in a reduced military among other things.

uhh, earth to Lemon -- I'm not a Huckabee supporter and I know his ideas on taxes as well. But, those ideas are not the same as RP's, nor is Huckabee the subject of my last post.

Huckabee is not the republican front runner. he's a guy who happened to win a state that everyone knows has no shot at taking the gold.

Uh - I don't hate RP2 or his supporters. I think they're a bit over the top and aren't looking at the whole picture but no hate coming from me.:) As I've repeatedly said, RP2 has some good ideas but he also has a bunch of bad ones. I've also repeatedly stated that while he's definately not #1 on my list - he does beat most of the others running. Only 2 IMO would be better than RP2. But once again, the RP2 supporters are turning off more people with their zealotry. Oh well...

I like RP, but Obama's my choice. Edwards in second, Clinton can have a cabinet position... which she wont take... :/

Biden never got any attention.. :(
