I also drive the Ultima GTR, did you mess with the final gearing? I can get it to 271, fastest I've seen is 276 so I'm not far off.

Yeah I tuned the final drive ratio as well. I couldn't find the sweet spot. No big deal as you won't be doing 270 in a race much anyway.

when you guys are tuning the cars, do you actually know how to tune cars and know what they mean? or are there people on the net that are just posting their specs on how they get the cars that fast and they are just sharing them? i haven't even clicked on the tuning option once lol.

I know what the adjustments do. I know how to adjust camber, tire pressure, the differential, the gearing, the downforce etc. Usually I leave most of them alone in this because it's not a track where I know every corner and straight.

I can tune my car in Forza pretty well, but I wouldn't trust that knowledge to translate to real life. I have a basic understand of what each tuning setting does, and after a bit of monkeying around, a decent understanding of what that change translates to in the game. Now, how realistic is that? No idea at all, although, I'd wager on the "not very".

Still on Xbox 360 here. Anyone check out both versions and have an opinion if its worth upgrade to the Xbox One ? I am sure graphically its better; but is it THAT much better ?

I have the first Forza Horizon and thought it wasn't bad but a little dull. But I love racing games.

forza horizon 2 is basically part 1 on steroids. the foundation is the same, but it just has more content in general. if you thought part 1 was dull, probably nothing will change your opinion on part 2.

I don't think it's ever worth it to buy a new console for one game. However, eventually you are going to find life a little dull without a next gen console if you are primarily a console gamer. So in that sense, it might be worth it to stop investing in the older platform and start investing in the newer one.

finished the horizon finale over the weekend. it's a pretty sweet long race that basically laps the entire map and you end up where you started. i think it was almost 15 minutes. you can pick the car you want to race and the other cars will follow classes. i picked my lambo and it was really fun because there is a lot of straight aways so you are up over 200mph for a lot of the race. then you get a huge purse after you win the race.

there is still so much to do in the game though. not really a chance i will 100% everything though, as it will just take too long and start to feel like a grind, but i do plan on playing it more to get more things. they also hint that there is another "finale" race at some point, but i'm not sure how many more championsihps will unlock another one.

See, I'm a little disappointed in Forza because of that. You ran a race of almost the whole map, and it was a 15-minute race? I miss when Forza 2 gave you endurance races. Doing those 45-minute things were fun (though not several in a row, haha).

If the FH2 map is really only 15 minutes or so to do a lap around, that's pretty rough. The Crew is supposed to have a map that's a couple of hours or so, end-to-end. I'd expect something of that size to be 3-4 hours to do a lap around.

i didnt say "race the whole map" ... i said you basically take a lap around the whole map in about 15 minutes, with an average or probably around 200mph.

personally i HATE long races and am happy there is no 45 minute long race. endurance races are things i steered clear of after gran turismo 1 because it's not fun running the same lap for the 60th time. i love the length of the races in general in this game, which is usually like 3-4 minutes. i think it's the perfect length to not get tiring.

i've never once felt confined in this game. there are still parts of the map i haven't uncovered. i think i've driven on about 75% of total roads.

I know what you said, and that's what I referenced. You ran a lap around the whole map in 15 minutes. Circumnavigation is longer than end-to-end, meaning that the map in Horizon 2 is less than 15 minutes, end-to-end. The Crew is supposedly a couple of hours, end-to-end. Map size isn't everything, but having more to explore is a plus, IMO.

The Horizon 2 map wasn't as large as I would have liked(I would love to be able to just cruise along a winding road along a coastline for an hour straight in a fast car) but it doesn't detract from the game all that much.

I'm not very hopeful for the crew because previews I have read say the physics and driving mechanics are way off. Cars bump one another and react inconsistently and unnaturally.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm expecting from Ubisoft's first real go at this. I was really hoping I'd get into the beta, but they're apparently going to run a second beta because of the delay to December, but maybe I'll get into that, and they'll improve the physics.

The reason map size detracts from the game for me is what you were disappointed by--there are just times I want to drive for long stretches, just to see what I find. I loved doing that in NFS: Most Wanted (the first one).

I've played this for about 20 hrs, and I have only 200/315 roads traveled.
I think you are starting to grasp at straws. Video games aren't safe for the pedantic.

LOL, what? I say that The Crew's map is expected to be larger, and I like that, and it's "grasping at straws?" Do you even know what that means, really? You're not even making an argument about anything with the game, just saying my point is flawed based on something not related to it.

while we all have our own opinions on stuff, the only one really complaining about the map size has never even played the game. so that is probably why a lot of people aren't really taking your opinion with much more than a grain of salt.

and then you say you loved to just drive around in nfs:mw and look around at what you saw, yet that map is tiny compared to forza horizon 2 and much more compressed.

again, nothing wrong with that opinion, that you prefer a larger map, but the general consensus is that the map is far from "too small".

I'm not saying it's too small. I'm saying that a larger one would be better, those aren't the same thing. I didn't get the full game, but I spent probably an hour in the demo, so it's not like I've not touched it.

I'm not even trying to change anyone's mind or anything. All I said is that I was disappointed in the map's size, and a guy calls it "grasping at straws," whatever that's supposed to mean in the context. I was actually going to see about grabbing Horizon 2 once The Crew got pushed to December, but I opted for Shadow of Mordor instead, after hearing so many good things about it (and I'm not disappointed).

The Crew is supposed to blah blah blah
Seriously... How many times have you mentioned The Crew in the Forza threads? Perhaps you should start a thread about that game. Or maybe start a thread about all the games you are not going to buy, since you seem to enjoy mentioning that in the particular game thread.

How many times have you been butthurt about it? Why don't you make a topic about your butthurt? Sorry I'm comparing two games of a similar manner within the same genre.

Oh, wait, NOT sorry.

yeah i am getting all my gaming in because first kid is coming in april!

was just testing out the ip6 in low light while playing fh2 on my projector. not too bad quality.

make sure to put in HD if you watch it though, cause the 360p does look pretty bad.

FH2 decided to install someone's hooptie GMC Safari's transmission on all of my cars. It holds it revs before redline for a solid second, then shifts.
I swear, it also slips gears.
Is there an AAMCO shop near the coast?

I'm disappointed that there are a lot of newer games that are on sale during black Friday but not Forza Horizon 2. Although, the Microsoft Store may have it on sale because it is on their preview page, but I'm not expecting anything other than a $10 discount. I think I saw Forza 5 GOTY on sale for $25 so I'll have to pick that up.
