I agree but if they would have hired a few more trained actors that specialize in various voices, accents and such it would be better. They sold 7 million copies the first week. They could have afforded it I'm thinking. I'll be curious if some modders tackle the voice acting or the lack of the variety of it. Assuming it can be done.

They had over 70 voice actors in Skyrim (vs about 10 for Oblivion), but the world is so huge it's easy to notice the repetition.

Modders could definitely add more variety to the voices. But it's a lot of work, and it's very difficult to find people who have halfway decent mics to record with, not to mention having some amount of vocal talent....

Something is borked with the armour. I just did a quick test. I was retrieving a staff for some guy and the dungeon had some vampire folks of some sort. I thought i cleared the place while consuming thousands in healing potions, but there was one guy left. He leveled me with two arrows, one took about 95% of my HPs. So i stripped my armour and let him have at it again. First arrow took about 40%, second another 40%, and the third finished me. With armour on, just over one arrow and im done, armour off, well over 3 arrows. What gives?

EDIT: I did another test from a fresh load and the opposite resulted. In my previous test, taking the armour off was akin to putting it on...damn bugs. I had really high hopes that Bethsoft may shed their "buggy developer" reputation with Skyrim, but alas no.

Ugh... I wish someone would have told me that most dungeons are related to quests, so I didn't have to reclear 90% of them now. Useless bastards, all of you:).

Ran into my first major bugs. One is Illia, the companion, related. I did the werewolf thing and she got auto-dismissed, then I lost her. Ended up searching for the console command to teleport me beside her, but now she didn't talk to me. So, I redid the quest but dismissed her manually first - same thing again, she wasn't at home, she was wandering the world. I tried some console commands, didn't work the first 4 times, so I gave up. Now I have a new companion, which brings me to another issue with Lydia: she doesn't level up with me or something. It takes 1 hit to kill her from a bandit's arrow even decked out in dragon armor.

Still fun, even at level 56 and feeling like Jesus... Terminator Jesus?

Did you read my post on armour? At TES forums there is some discussion about this. My experience is that no armour is better than a full set of plated steel armour. Try taking the armour off of Lydia and see how she fares against the arrows. Without armour i see an decrease in damage of about 2.3x.

I believe companions are set to whatever level they were when you first meet them. I've been holding off on visiting a couple of places so that those potential companions keep leveling with the world.

How do you get 60x damage from a bow? I'm mostly playing a sneak sort tht snipe shots but i don't think my bow does any where close to 1800 damage.

Who said anything about a bow?

Bow's crit is 3x at most but base attack is much stronger and it's ranged.

Dagger is probably the weakest weapon in game, but you get that 30x crit perk from your Sneak skill tree. (15x actually + 2x gloves given by Astrid of Dark Brotherhood)

So all in all, dagger's 30x sneak crit is about 4~ times stronger than Bow's 3x sneak crit at same rank of weapons.

If you power attack with dagger while sneaking, then it's about 8x stronger than bow and one-shot EVERYONE in the game including dragons. (15x + 2x gloves + 2x power swing = 60x crit)
I use both and it's great.

The game is not that fun anymore due to 96 sneak level AND fucking 115% sneaking (40% from max first perk, 30% boots, 35% Cicero's hat, 10% from ring)
I can be mere 5 yards away in direct line of enemy's sight and he doesn't see me... -_- Stab stab 1 shot everyone with dagger or bow.

I can do this as well with 82 sneak, no sneak bonuses applied to items, and only 1 point spent on sneaking. It doesn't work all the time, but more often than not I can slap them with a sneak attack before they detect me. Good enough for me. :)

Edit: Muffle can probably supplement the difference, but I only just recently started using it and I have noticed a pretty good improvement.

Is there a mod or console command that would keep my enchanted weapons fully charged permanently? I'm getting tired of collecting soul gems, and I don't craft.

if you've played the game that long you should have realized that by now, unless you never went to any towns.

I have no idea how many charges my Daedric sword has, but I have it double enchanted with Shock damage and Absorb Health and I just charged it last night for the first time from about 25% down, I think I'd killed something like 150 things with it before I charged it. High level enchanting can be very beneficial!

Missed that. I don't have that problem on my own character. When I felt like it, I just stoof infront of some weaker bandits for a few minutes to level my block and armor skill:). Did it just yesterday post patch 1.2. Guess they really do take on the level you meet them at - met Lydia at 15-ish, and she was getting one hit when I was still 20-ish so I ditched her.

if you've played the game that long you should have realized that by now, unless you never went to any towns.

I went to Winterhold from the start of a new game, then ventured south and east, clearing roughly half the map (systematically going to and clearing every icon on my compass) before starting on quests. So lots of stuff cleared in advance. Oh well...

Think I'm going to switch to Light Armor and use one-handed weapons just to level them - yes, I'm a power leveler.

I believe I'm using "The Lover Stone" or something like that, it's +15% leveling speed to all attributes. The other ones I found weren't too appealing...

Yep, same here.

I didn't play last night for the first time in a long time, however, my block is around 70, my 1 hand is 100, my heavy armor is 100, but I am trying to raise my regeneration magic, sneaking, lockpicking (80 for lockpick so far), and other various ones.

Just can't find any more quests to do.

I don't understand this. Every faction will generate an infinite number of random quests, even after you complete the faction's main quest chain.

I'm hosed on the companion quest chain and can't go further. I'm supposed to rescue a guy but when I get there, he's already dead. Can't drop the quest, cant get another since this one is still active.

Aside from that, all the quests have been to go to X and exterminate an ice wraith. It died in one hit. Did that 2 times in a row. Then go to X barrow and find X. Did that 2-3 times in a row. They are just filler, they are not anything new, and just a waste of time. I want more quests built on quests, depth of game, not mindless questing for the sake of it.

Are you actually exploring the world? A large number of the misc quests I've done were locational, eg find a guy outside of a ruin who asks for help with ___. Also, many of the dungeons that don't even have a specific quest tied to them still have a story.... if you read the notes and journals you find.

I'm doing something quite fun just for the heck of it, it's very chaotic.

Go to a town, village, or anywhere you want to with NPCs friendly towards you, such as Whiterun, Solitude, or any similar place. Then open up the console, and type "tai" (without quotes) to temporarily disable the A.I. Once that is done, type "player.placeatme" (without quotes) followed by the base ID of hostile creatures or humaoids. For example, say... Bandit Plunderer, you'd type "player.placeatme 00037c3c 1" (without quotes, as always), the 1 at the end is the number of Bandit Plunderer you'd want each time you press enter after typing the code.

Do that any number of times you want, at any spot you wish a Bandit Plunderer to be spawned, all the while the A.I. (for everyone including the Bandit's) is disabled. Just place a few around town/village, for example one or two in Whiterun's market place near the inn, a few at the town's main entrance near the blacksmith, etc., and once you've placed them as you see fit then finally type "tai" again to re-enable the A.I.. Now grab some pop-corn, enjoy the show, or if you want be part of it.

As a side note, it's a good way to test some stability as well, since of course you'll have a greater number of moving NPCs on screen, but the A.I. will also run many more events at once. It can also provoke crashes obviously since many places are just not meant to encounter high number of foes, or sometimes just none at all. If you crash during such "experimental" fights don't be surprised and don't necessarily consider that your game is suddenly unstable, since it would well be stable otherwise. It's just something to do for some action.

I was doing that back when I was playing Fallout 3 and making my mod for it, I used to spawn a couple of Super Mutants in Megaton and watch NPCs running around and shouting at Mutants that it was "their town", good ol' times (but it crashed each time).

EDIT: Oh and some of the funniest moments I've had doing that was inside Whiterun's inn. I spawned some Bandits in there late at night (in-game time obviously, when many NPCs stop by inside to take a drink before going back home to sleep). The Bard sang Ragnar the Red and never stopped while the four Bandits I spawned were wrecking havoc (and seemingly ignored the Bard), I just couldn't stop laughing.

player.additem 0002e504 100

Will give you 100 black soul gems with grand souls contained inside.

This is the full list: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Soul_Gem

Thank you for this.

I play a mage/thief hybrid, and I use a bow, dual spells, and dual 1h'ers. But I always struggle if I want to switch between dual spells and dual 1h'ers or vice versa, because I have to manually open the menu (or favorites) and click on them.

My 1h'ers are mapped to keys, but if I hit the corresponding number it will always equip the weapon in my right hand, I can't tell it that I wanna dual wield. Is there any mod that can take care of this?

Can you use the console to revive him?

I finished the main quest, getting sick of killing dragons in random areas especially when I've more then enough dragon bones, scales etc.....

On the plus side been quite stable, however still get the odd CTD which normally happens on random fast area travel but not always.
Still exploring since Skyrim is really huge especially if you like exploring every cave, tower etc.....

Few bugs since the patch like some of my books invisible in my house but they are there on the book case.

I wonder if I can spawn a dragon inside Dragonreach.
