I'm fed up with this game. On my second character, this time a theif/fighter. Once I hit level 15ish, every enemy just became an unstoppable juggernaut with 1000's of HP that kill me in one shot. Just regular bandits and bears and such. Not sure how I'm supposed to kill a dragon when he kills me with one pass of fire breath and I can't hit him with a single arrow. This is on adept btw. Maybe my game is bugged?

How are you spec'd out? Just remember that the 1.2 broke resistances, so you won't get reduced damage from frost/fire, etc if you had any kind of gear for that.

I never saw much problem at 15 unless I hit a boss or something.

You can always lower the game settings and change it to higher setting later once you are a higher level.

I'm playing as mage with glass legendary armour and its not that hard, I use dodge from enemy mage attacks a lot and fireball or electrical attacks on them.

As to dragons well using cover is your friend ie use a good large rock for cover and you can time your attacks from cover to cover etc...you can normally find a good place. You can also use potions ie fire resistance, frost etc....

I never bothered with any NPC companions.

Since finishing the main quest the guards now attack people attacking me when I get blood starved. lol
Though that does mean reloading.

Slightly related there doesn't seem to be any benefit at all to going vampire, the frost resistance doesn't even work as intended. 100% frost resistance yet getting 1 hit by an ice spike or spear is stupid.

Oh and dragons, giants, mammoths, dragon priests, etc are easy now and I'm only lvl 22ish :(
Multiple dragons are an issue but only had that happen once.

the voices from other characters is hard to hear, it's like my ear has to point right at them. Is there a fix for that?

Ok. I figured them out. Bleh.

I just found a bit of a weird cage in the mountains near forskaen cave as you head up towards yngvild. THe thing is that this cage has a switch in the middle and does not show up on map. Any clue how to open it or what it is doing there ?

The most recent patch broke magic resistances. They no longer work for both your character and everyone else, so you can kill Flame Atronauchs with Fire spells...etc. Bethesda is releasing a follow up patch this up-coming week to fix this.

It loves CPU power because it's can't efficiently use more than 2 threads, which is a ****ing shame considering most gamers now a days are looking at 4-12 threads in their machines, BethSoft really dropped the ball on this one.

Steam says that ~75% of gamers still have 2 or less.

I'm stuck it appears. Level 42, done all the quests I can find, and I'm stuck on a companion quest to rescue a guy from a dungeon, his name begins with E...

At any rate, he's dead in the dungeon, and I can't cancel the quest, nor can i pick up any more companion quests, so, yeah, stuck so far. I tried re-animating him but it didn't work.

I'm playing on normal and at level 50, the only difficult enemies are mages and dragons. I'm getting ancient dragons now and I only have 50% fire resistance as a dunmer. Giants and mammoths turned into jokes after level 20-ish.

Normal (adept) is a joke once you get the hang of your spec. Up the difficulty. I'm at level 53, playing an archer/sneak spec, and on Master difficulty I have trouble with ancient dragons, which is a nice change from 2-3 shotting everything else (or 1 shotting if sneaking).

That's due to how the game scales monsters. Most monsters have varying degrees of monsters. Like there are different types of bandits: Bandit, Bandit Outlaw, Bandit Rogue, Bandit Thug, Bandit Chief, Bandit Highwayman, Bandit Marauder, Bandit Plunderer

As your level increases you have a higher likelihood of spawning the higher level monsters. Giants and Mammoths are hardset at level 20 so they roflstomp you at level 1 but are easy to dispatch once you get ~halfway through the game.

At level 4, I really wanted to kill a giant. I spent about 30 mins trying to kill him and my armor and attack gained exp really fast.

Then at about level 8-9, I learned how to properly time shield-punts and attack swings. Giants swing VERY slowly, if you punt him during their swing, they'll never land a single blow. You can kill them easily, albeit it takes time.

Then finally at level 25 as a thief, I could 1-shot a giant with a sneak attack with 60x Crit attack of 1800 damage LOL

30 base damage Daedric dagger + 15x Assassin's Blade crit + 2x double damage thief gloves + 2x power attack (holding attack button) = .

Fucking satisfying.

I was disappointed how quickly saber cats leveled off and became ridiculously easy. They were fairly terrifying early on in the game but... then that was it.

I've also noticed that giants and mammoths are easy to kill once you get a little past level 20 or so. They drove me nuts for the longest time. :)

I found the easiest thing for giants was to just use unrelenting force and knock them down. They take awhile to get up so while they attempt that one can easily dispose of them.

Good tip! I never use the shouts... for some reason I just never remember them and forget they're even there. :(

So is this game like Oblivion where if you don't make every level-up 100% focused on a single combat skill you are gimped forever? I thought they fixed that aspect of the leveling but I guess not. I get some sneak skills to throw in with my 1-h + shield fighter and now I can't kill anything. :(

No it's definitely not like that. You CAN still screw it up but the levelling is much much better. In fact it's easy to become godly strong.

I think they should have made the crafting skills not use perks, and instead require quests to unlock each of those talents. Everybody seems to get them anyway (except maybe alchemy and only because it's far too annoying to level) so why make people sink points into them? Level the skills like normal and seek out people for quests to teach you the different styles would be much more interesting. Unlock the mysteries of Dwarven smithing through exploring one of the old Dwarven ruins. Gain the trust of the 4 Orcish holds for Orcish smithing. Learn Arcane smithing under the direction of that dude at the Winterhold college. Complete enough of the Daedric quests to unlock Daedric smithing.

Nice idea. Something for the next TeS?

Good idea (honestly). Trying to think of quests for smiting Ebony... hmmm, it's a volcanic glass so I guess it'd have to do with quests in volcanic regions? But overall a very interesting idea, better anyway than just accumulating raw materials and power-smiting to 100 in a few days if not a few sessions.
