Good to know. I don't have a 120hz monitor, so anything above 60 is really wasted on me anyway. If I can keep it between 50-60pfs, with the best visuals, that's perfect for me. This game appears to love CPU power. I gained a good 10fps increase in averages just going from 3.8Ghz (Bloomfield)to 4.6Ghz (SB-E). If I get around to it, I might test the game with only 4 cores at 4.6Ghz, and all six at stock, just to see what results I get. My 5870 is still doing great though! Looking to get SLI 28nm when it's out, plus a 1600P resolution monitor to match....next year though...

It loves CPU power because it's can't efficiently use more than 2 threads, which is a ****ing shame considering most gamers now a days are looking at 4-12 threads in their machines, BethSoft really dropped the ball on this one.

It's possible she got killed traveling back to the house. I've read of that happening elsewhere. Reload a save, send her home again, then fast travel and see if she shows up?

Ha ha, NPCs do not "walk" when traveling. They are teleported. Maybe i can find out what happened to her after the Construction Kit is released.

Another oddity that this "patch" introduced was dragons NOT attacking. From the update list "Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack." I never had this happen until the patch was applied, now it has happened TWICE.

I've read otherwise, but of course I can't find the link when I need it. I've also read that if you dismissed her, it can take up to 3 days for her to return to your house. Either way, if she's not there after you fast travel/wait, and she's not "stuck" where you left her, she's likely dead.

If you can find her corpse you can resurrect her. If not, you can "clone" her using the console by entering "player.placeatme 000a2c8e"

Not sure if the clone will have all the crap she was carrying for you, but somehow I doubt it.

Here's what I do with Oblivion when you can't find someone/something.
Reload a save where you can still find it. Open the console, click on the person/thing, it'll give you an instance ID ("5400f2a"..etc), write it down. Reload the last save then do "prid 5400f2a" and "moveto player". This will warp the creature/person to you while saving it's inventory.

Whelp i just had my first CTD after 61 hours of gameplay. Just took the last blow to a Frost Dragon and *bam* desktop. What the...? This "patch" is horrid and i cant find a way to roll back in Steam. Any ideas?

Not sure if it will work, but get the old, unpatched exe that several folks (myself included) are using to launch the game without Steam?

My guy decked out in Nightingale armor with an ebony bow&arrows on Shadowmere looks so badass.

I thought in the previous elder scrolls; the number and level of enchantment depended on the material being enchanted. Now it seems that you only get one enchantment (unless you take the perk) and level has nothing to do with material being enchanted. Is that correct ?

Almost. I've never played other TES.

The skill level determines the longevity of enchantment (charges). As playing thief, my shitty enchantments came with 10-15 charges. They passively increased to about 45 (with 0 perks) and now they grant 40-50 charges.

The potency of enchantment (greater damage, buff, etc) comes from perks.

And yes, you can only enchant one type, unless you grab the dual enchant way up the perk tree.

I was fighting a dragon for good hour lol ,he kept flying away which was annoying and its hard to fight him out of fireball range,anyway he decided to land near a gaints camp and soon died lol but I got credit for the kill.

I also disabled Windows Defender real time scan, so going to see if that improves CTDs which I've not had since it has been disabled(fast travelled a few times too) however I should know within 24 hours if that has helped.

I will find the cause of CTD for players its my main quest lol....

That fight would've lasted 10 seconds if you had done some of the main quest

I did some of the main quest actually,near end of that I think .


Dragons can be annoying especially when you want to work on your quests and you fast travel and 2 Elder dragons appear(happened to me a few times).

It does get a bit boring fighting dragons especially after you have killed so many of them.
I would rather have a dragon I can fly on since that would be more cool then killing them.

i was hoping my issue would be fixed by now, fuck its been over a week now.

this is all i see when i load up a game. i can hear it play, i can hear my guy walk, draw weapons and music...etc. but this is all i see.

If you want less dragons avoid fast travel.

I don't fast travel in my games, and 70 hours in have only had maybe 6-8 random encounters.

I haven't been able to fight a dragon for hours. I see them, they circle and I simply can't get their attention. Frustrating as I need 2 more souls

I usually run into the most dragons near small towns that don't have their own load-zone. There are 4 dragon corpses on the edge or in the middle of Riften right now...

Ugh... I'm level 53 so am getting Ancient Dragons now. Effers are freaking hard until they land, but even then I'm dead in one or two bites.

So I'm finally doing quests. For the first 60 hours, I was mainly exploring the map and obsessive-compulsively clearing dungeons. Turns out that there are actually quests attached to most of those dungeons, and when I go back, everyone's respawned...

I just found a bit of a weird cage in the mountains near forskaen cave as you head up towards yngvild. THe thing is that this cage has a switch in the middle and does not show up on map. Any clue how to open it or what it is doing there ?

Gold/brass looking cage? Might be a Dwemer ruin nearby (huge golden/brass looking doors, actually Dwemer metal)

bring up journal, select quest (highligh) you wanna do, press M to show on map.

go there kill everything and loot everything.

It's part of a dwemer ruin nearby, you'll need to clear it out in order to use that cage. Nothing terribly important about the cage though. At the end there is something to do, but it must be related to some quest as I don't have the proper item and I'm not sure what it is.

edit: although as I wrote that I may have an idea for what it is, nobody give me hints please

Has anyone done The Only Cure quest with that Peryite worshiper? I started the quest last night and today the game is totally borked. I cant fast travel and if i pick up a book to read there is no way to put it down, i can only read (LR MB) or steal it. Is this part of the quest or is my game just ruined?

EDIT: I fixed this by rolling back the SkyrimInterface.bsa (not spelled like that, but i cant remember how) file.
