This must be a f..... joke??

That's what I thought..but it's not April 1st... and the video is officially from Bethesda. It kind of makes sense though - a very large world with a lot of empty space. Plus this will open up a lot of "mods" that people can make [customized furniture, etc].

Would this be something the Minecraft crowd/SIMS would enjoy?

I guess it's okay as long as they release some of the large DLC's they talked about. I want some new landmass and more storyline.

I watched some youtube videos of heartfire and wasn't too impressed. The building of your house seems to be more mix and match than actual customization and it takes a lot of time and money. Once you've built your large house then what? You can move your spouse and two children in and watch them interact with the environment and that's basically it. They haven't done anything to improve the spouse (you can ask them one new thing - "How are the children?") and you can hear all of the children's dialouge in about five minutes. Other than that there's a bard, house steward and some random events like giant attacks and kidnappings.

I think some of the stuff in hearthfire might annoy players. You can come home and find your steward, bard and spouse all dead. Unless they patched in an option to remarry (I don't think they did), that's it for a spouse. The bard's singing and the chidlren's dialouge (Do you chores - "I don't wanna!") could be annoying. Plus the bugs like when your spouse is rescued after being kidnapped they walk backwards.

I was thinking of picking it up when it's 50 or 75% off but with the possible permadeath of your spouse and various bugs I'll pass.

Just continued my Orc battlemage. Forgot how nice these games are with mods. Got a house mod that connects all the official homes in the game. Got the UI mod, and a couple custom homes but I probably wont use them much.

Anyone else have the dwemer airship house?

I've tried it. Cool enough.

I noticed a while ago that this thread was removed from sticky. I'm guessing it is because of the somewhat low activity of this thread?

Yup. Low activity. And the new DLC didnt excite people cuz of the freakin problems it had.

I didn't have any noticable problems with Dawnguard. But now when Hearthfire is released we at least don't need to wait because of that 30 days exclusive for xbox shit when the next DLC comes.

I'm hoping for a huge DLC/Expansion like Shivering Isles for Oblivion. Bethesda promised us fewer but bigger DLC's for Skyrim.

I still haven't finished the main quest yet, and I started playing on release day. I got to 150 hours in my stealth archer, then went home for christmas and never finished. I started up an axe warrior build, but once I opened the map and saw it completely empty I kinda got turned off by how much time I was going to spend to play through the game again.

You can forge through the main quest somewhat quickly. Dont BS with too many people on your journey, and dont agree to do any favors for them.

A thought just occurred:

It would make sense if orcs & argonians gained health from raw food, and humans & elves gained health from cooked food.
:hmm:

Finally got my orcs smithing and enchanting up to useful levels. Now I can make the equipment I need to actually do things. On Adept the forsworn camps can be quite tough.

Took fucking forever, but I finally got a finishing animation on a dragon.
Jumped on top of that bastard and axed him to death.

Still playing. 1006 hours so far and I still find new spots to loot. :) One day I'll install the expansion packs but I still haven't done much of the main quest (one day I'll actually infiltrate the Thalmor embassy to finish the main quest at least once instead of just killing all the Thalmor outside and lootingthem before going to another dungeon). The monster mod is really worth it. Lotsa fun if you like to hunt creatures and loot them for spoils.

Wherever possible, I tend to clean them from out of range with a summoned bow or fireballs, or I frenzy the lot and finish off the survivors (usually a wounded hagraven) then I walk in.

Oh yeah it didnt help that I forgot about my orcs battle rage. Or my unrelenting force and Amulet of Talos. That would have made things easier too. I popped out of a cave to go up to a higher cave for the shards of Merunes Dagon, and the fuckers were camped out by the dozens. Getting swarmed by them is not fun.

Aw yes, Dead Crone Rock. Lotsa fun. I need to make like 3-4 trips there after 'cleansing' the place because otherwise I have to leave too much coin-worthy loot behind (I don't use companions unless forced to by a quest. I like to travel alone and stealthily.)

Haven't played an orc yet. I don't like close combat, too hectic for my old age. My last three games I haven't triggered the dragons and it's actually quite fun. I almost never use shouts or powers. Call me conservative.

Some 4096x4096 texture pics to show the soil, rocks & snow.

There's even a small white bivalve (like Arca or Anadara) in this one, between the green leaves (the paleontologist in me noticed that). :)

And my previouscharacter. I'm not entirely sure but I think that was the first red guard I've ever played, including Morrowind & Oblivion.:)
