The last patch was crap. Whoever maxed archery talent tree probably knows this. That 15% chance to paralyse the target becomes somehow 50% and the target falls even before the arrow is released from the bow. Add to this the shitty slomo cutscene and see how the arrow passes the target without touching it.
Fire from the top of a hole/stairs, get the cutscene and see the arrow get stuck in the floor at your feet, but get detected at the same time(congrats, you have effectively broken sneak like this).
They still didn't address the dragon twitch and the fact that you can't absorb all the dragon souls.
Shadowmere is now the invisible horse when observed from a certain angle, several feet away.

Please tell me you don't have the same issues, hopefully there's only something wrong with my install.

I dunno about you guys, but I think the game is super hard. Then again, I'm still level 5 with about 56 hours into it so far.

The downside?

I can't really get any of the good stuff (Armor, Talents, etc)...

I wonder if there is a mod that fixes easy mode. You don't need a deathly difficult challange, you just need ot up the ante a little bit

The patches seem to have made it more difficult to level effectively at the beginning of the game. By the time you hit level 30 or so you can make gear that's so overpowered that the entire game becomes something of a joke. It's not a consistent difficulty, and it gets easier as you get further along, which is kind of the opposite of what you want... But only level 5 after 56 hours? That's a bit slow... Have you just been running around picking daisies? One of the easiest ways to level early on is through crafting (smithing, alchemy and enchanting). It also earns the biggest returns on money.

Dust, I haven't experienced any of those issues since the patch, but I also haven't done much archery or the Dark Brotherhood missions since then, so I can't comment on those. Haven't had any issues with the dragon souls though.

Haven't played in a while, did any of the patches enhance the strength of the magic spells in game? Or do I need to rely on mods for that still?

EDIT:

Yep, timed release, screw this. Their PC fans are what made them what they are today. Their PC fans are the ones making mods and fixes for all their broken games throughout the years. The PC gamers are their biggest fanbase. And it seems Microsoft have bought Bethesda off for a timed release.

Is there no respect for your own fans anymore? Can't even get that from Bioware anymore since EA bought them.

I might have to become a budget-bin gamer from now on. Giving too much money to developers to be treated this way. Chances are that the pc version will end up on torrents while we wait our 30 day grace period and then sales will be shit because of it. Then blame goes to piracy.. this fucking cycle again.

I'm not even sure how you can only be level 5 after so much time. This game is one of the easiest games I have ever played, but it doesn't get that way until you level up to a certain level. Try sneaking around everywhere and using other skills as you play to level up faster. Once you get into the teens it gets easier and once you are at 30, you are practically a god.

That's just illogical since the PC version requires Windows, which is a Microsoft product (and I would imagine one that is more profitable than their console sales).

Same shit as FONV with their first DLC.

I always wonder why the Dovahkeen or however you spell it is wearing a mix of iron and studded armor in so much of the media for the game.

Its because once i hit level 5 I chose not to level up anymore xD If I actually leveled, I'm somewhere about level 29-32.

Wait, you're saying that the game is too hard... because you intentionally chose to not level up and spend perk points? That's like me complaining that Battlefield 3 is unfair because everyone is using tanks and I'm only using my knife.

Try levelling up and using those skill points,I'm level 57 and had to turn difficulty up due to the game getting way too easy has you become a killing machine, also learn blacksmithing and enchanting,so you can craft/enchant all your own gear,it does help even at lower levels.

Btw I never bothered with any companions did it all solo.

That is my main concern: I don't want the game to be easy mode. Dragons are very hard to kill, trolls can kill me in 3-4 hits, falmer own me effortlessly, and most bosess are a PITA (although I did folgunthur last night and the boss wasn't too bad) etc. etc. Hell, I have some spells I can't even cast because I don't have enough Magicka The challenge is fun! Everyone is complaining right now about it being easy peasy.

FWIW my enchanting is about 50, my smithing is about 75. Most my other skills are similarly high (except maybe pickpocketing) I basically run around in whatever I can find since anything I make isn't worth wearing.

Is it really a matter of increasing the difficulty? That everyone's mistake is that they need to up the ante and then its challanging once more?

To decrease the challenge find some wheat and giant's toes and make potions. They sell for a ton of money. Allows you to buy stuff for enchanting and smithing.

Next thing you know you're one hitting every enemy in the game, and mobs of enemies don't even make your health drop when they hit you. lol.

There are mods that will increase the difficulty of enemies; Deadly Dragons is a popular one that makes dragon encounters much more difficult. It's probably better than intentionally gimping yourself for the entire game.

And opponents will level with you to a certain extent. Skeevers or giants or mammoths or whatnot will always be the same, so as you level they get easier. But if you go through a cave at level 5, you'll find low-level draugr. If you do the same cave at level 50, you'll be facing draugr wights and deathlords.
