Bullshit. The forums become over run with redundant crap. That is a problem in that other topics quickly move down to pages 2 and beyond.Originally posted by: Shanti
So fvcking what if there are too many threads about a subject you don't want to discuss.
Just don't fvcking click it.
Everyone want to join me in making new threads in which we discuss nothing but Shanti?
Mill started by claiming there were 75 Passion threads on the first two pages of OT.
He was vastly exaggerating.
There were actually 5 threads out of the first 100 threads.
Do you honestly think that 5 threads in the first 100 is having that big of an impact on how quickly other threads move down?
Well, they might be 5 places further down instead of 1.
Big fvcking deal.
The other thing is that there are often many different discussion points about something like a film.
Is it really reasonable to expect that ALL discussion of this movie should be put in one single thread?
That makes for an unreadable thread.
I would much rather have 5 threads about the movie than have to listen to 5 DIFFERENT discussions in the same single thread.
Discussing whether the movie is anti-semitic or not is a very specific discussion. It should not be lumped together with a thread about whether you liked the movie or not or a thread about the career implications for Mel Gibson personally because of this movie.
Those are three different discussions and they deserve three different threads.
Mill's statements make it clear that his rant was based more on his views of this particular subject than on the general opposition to redundant threads. In which case, my argument is that it is not up to him to determine what people can and cannot discuss on this board. You don't see me bitching about it when there are 3 car threads on the first page.
Actually, you'd be very hard pressed to ever find a thread where I bashed Christianity. If anything I normally defend it.
