You're clearly just being very obtuse in this whole discussion. It's not that Samsung knows for 100% certainty that an iWatch will be successful, but it's not hard to figure out that it will be based on the amount of speculation, rumor, and hype that's generated around it. You don't think Samsung has a bunch of analysts running numbers, marketing analytics, to understand the market for a smart watch? It's very likely that they saw what Apple was doing, did their own due diligence, and realized that if they beat Apple to the punch they could capture some early marketshare and momentum.
Samsung likely had very little if not any information there would be a gold iPhone. All of us were shocked too. Therefore, in this instance, they promoted the gold GS4 only AFTER the announcement by Apple and the realization how successful a gold iPhone could be.
There's different levels of copying, but it seems like only a few people on this thread recognize that there's industry trends and then there's the "omg me too" copying to mimic a leader.
