Yes, I agree with you. But this is not what I was trying to talk about. I was trying to discuss the lies media/military/govt have spread all over America. I just want ATOT to know the truth behind the ficticious story we've all been fed. This wasn't meant to be an argument-breeding thread

"but I'm pretty damn sure he's not as bad as the Government makes him out to be"

Mass Graves

I would say 300,000 mass graves make him out to be a bad as ANYONE describes!

Those mass murders didn't matter to us in the 1980s or 1990s, when we had full knowledge of them. Why do we care now?

Ok, I'm going to use a little logic here so if you stay with me I think we can both agree on the conclusion.

We have a government that wants to invade Iraq. (This may or may not be a good thing, but that doesn't matter). To do so, they go digging up bad things about them and sharing it with the public. Now they have 2 options: tell the truth and hope it's enough to get support to invade OR they can talk about weapons of mass destruction and other type "possibilities" that while COULD be true, are probably just propaganda to get support.

Of course they'll try and make him out to be a worse person than he really is. HOWEVER, this is not to say he's actually a very bad person. All I'm saying is that no matter what he's done, it makes sense they'll come up with anything/everything they can to get support. I'm not saying it's good or bad thing, just that he's not a bad as we've been told. (For example, the videos and pictures they show are always selected to show some sort of negative thing.)

Remember on 9/11/01 when they showed all the kids and people in the Middle-East jumping up and down in joy? Then it turned out that was from years before or something totally unrelated? The media/govt is pretty good about selective feeding of information.

Because Bush wasn't incharge then. Now that he is, by the grace of God, he is making a big deal out of it.

WHAT???

I'll rephrase it:
Even though he is made out to be a bad person, it very well may be that he is, in fact, quite evil. (Or maybe he's not nearly as bad as he's made out to be). Either way, I believe, and most would agree, that the Government will make him out to be even worse in the attempt to gain support for their cause.

Basically I'm trying to support your idea that he is bad but give room for more possibilites. I certainly am not trying to discount your opinion.

Is that better or did I miss something?

I agree with a lot of your post except for what you are implying here. Even if the video was from years before or something totally unrelated, something of which I am not convinced, it is naive to pretend-believe that no one in the region was rejoicing right after 9/11. The hatred for the "infidel" U.S. has been there for a long time.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. People definately were happy to see the towers fall. Absolutely. However, the media showed a segment of video from an unrelated topic and claimed it to be a reaction from the Middle East. They admitted the footage was not from 9/11. But they justified it the same way you mentioned, "Although it might not be directly related to 9/11, there are people who are happy the attack happened and this is what it would look like".

So it ends up being a moot point mostly but I still hate it when that sort of thing happens. I (and mostly everyone else) depends on our own country's news so when they lie, we get wrong information and have little to compare it to.

If you'll notice from his earlier posts, I think he's just being sarcastic.

I'm trying to be as compromising as possible but you won't bend huh? That's fine, it doesn't really have anything to do with being lied to about Lynch and all but can I ask you something really quick?

Where do you get the news about the Middle-East? Please be honest.

Are you being sarcastic or is Ted Turner really a right winger?

What does NPR mean?

I didn't fill out my profile so there's nothing in there. Do you want to know something about me? Feel free to ask.
