I watched a couple episodes and never thought of it again. Guess that shows how much I liked it.

It's a bit campy, and the acting certainly isn't the best. But I thought there were some good scenes, like the one where that Japanese couple is interested in antique Americana and want that antique dealer to act like John Wayne or something. I thought that was a good critique of the how Americans act with Japanese and Asian stuff.
 
I thought the first episode was far better than the rest but I suppose I'll check out the new season when it comes out.
 
I loved it.
America as a loser examined.
Nazi principles being evenly applied examined.
Depth of commitment examined.
Butterfly Effect approached from a different angle.
Relationships vs Philosophies examined.
Played in the mid past it plays with today's political environment.
Flaws? Sure but all in all a pretty good Philip K Dick reproduction.
 
Bumping an old thread, but I started watching TMITHC a few weeks ago and I'm almost done with S2.

So far it's been good overall, some slow parts.

One thing I haven't been able to figure out (and it's probably an easy explanation), is in Episode 1, before we know who Joe Blake really is, he shoots a Nazi police/guard person while escaping in the big truck.

Later we find out that he is and has been working for the Nazi's. So how was he able to get away with killing one of his own?
 
I watched the first season last year when it came out and I thought it was OK but wasn't too impressed.

Then before I watched the second season I decided to re-watch the first since it had been awhile. I liked it a lot more the second time around and really liked it overall. The Nazi guy, John Smith, is an interesting character and the guy's a good actor. Frank sure turns into a badass OG but I didn't like him much. I came to like the pussyish antique seller too.

It's an enormous leap now, but at the time (1940's) not nearly so much so. Remember that Germany was doing nuclear research too, and was also working missile technology that we were not. If they'd won the nuclear race and been a few years further along on their missiles, they could have easily conquered the United States.

Nuclear is a total game changer when you're the only one that has it.

No, not just for that. I've just recently started watching the show, and I enjoy fora about such things. So I registered the account just for that general reason. Your post just motivated me to write a reply - I was going to do more yesterday afternoon but I got busy.

welcome to the forum. I really liked the series. the opening scene with the highschool and the nazi flag then the kids swearing a oath to hitler instead of the pledge, was creepy as hell.
 
im 1/2 way thru season 3.

one question comes to mind:
which person rules the pacific states/territories?

the chief inspector seems to take orders from the Admiral.
is he in charge?
 
I wonder if this means that the rebellion will finally grow some gonads and start seriously fighting back. I got sick of watching them sit in bars and whine last season.
