Another thing I don't get is if George Bush and his goons are trying to keep the American public safe, why all the lies? Why not be truthful with the American public?

Its also obvious you people havent read the article. Or if you have, you do not agree with it. However, you still support the ideals discussed in the article which either makes you liars or ignorant followers. I'm just not sure which yet.

And what do you say to those Republicans who railed against the Iraqi War before we invaded, such as Colin Powell (before he was spanked), and ex-Bush and Ford Secretarty of State Brent Scowcroft??? Are they liberal, enemy comforting candyasses too? How about Murtha, a man who's set foot on more battlefields in real life than you ever will in video games - and who now says get the hell out?

The article's basic premise is just so undermined by the significant number of moderate Republicans who also were/are against the Iraqi War. People who's reading of military history said that the probability of this thing ending well, no matter how hard we try, were just too low - or that Saddam had no significant connection to Al Queda and therefore shouldn't be a priority.

Put me in that group - I support QUADRUPLING the forces in Afghanistan (and Western Pakistan), where we are actually fighting Al Q and ex-Taliban. But Iraq is a factional war between two religious subgroups (Shiite vs Sunnis) that we frankly will only make worse, and cause them both to find further cause against us. So unless we are prepared to kill them all to prevent them from becoming terrorists, all we are accomplishing is training them up...
