Another truth. As a whole, people are too stupid to have a real functional democracy. People really don't want to make choices. They want a King. Maybe that king changes faces and parties, but a King nonetheless. Maybe it's in the genes, us being a social species with dominant and submissive roles. Kind of like dogs. Dogs are more loyal though.

Supposedly Ho Chi Min (could be wrong here) was asked in an interview what he thought of the French Revolution. His answer was "It's too soon to tell".

I don't know if it's true, but I understand what he means.

I actually agree with this. You would think that if people really cared about what was going on in their country they would pay more attention to the local level. From what I have seen more people are interested in Federal Politics far more than at the local level which is sad. We have a lot more power over our state government but we don't always seem to use it.

But the points I made about the Left are their actual talking points. They go up to the podium and tell people these things. They say they want more social programs. Flat out say it. They hint at wealth redistribution, and its a strong talking point in their campaigns.

I always wondered why Republicans, who are always claiming they value hard work, don't push for lower taxes on EARNED income, as in wages. They have reduced capital gains taxes and dividend income taxes a lot, so a rich person with lots of stocks but who doesn't actually work pays almost nothing, while some poor person with a regular job
who pays rent has to pay a very high tax rate. Oh right, democrats are engaged in class warfare when they want to raise the minimum wage.

Every time I see a Democrat trying to get re-elected all I hear is how theres unfair tax breaks for the rich (Welath redistribution), how the poor suffer from taxes (wealth redistribution), how the poor need more affordable healthcare and food (Social programs) and how they want to make the streets safer (disarmament).
