The Jussie Smollett Affair

Surely this actor will be swiftly fired for trying to create divides between us over nothing more than color of skin and political leaning. Right?

So what do you guys think about the Smollett Act of 2019? Faking a hate crime being punishable as a hate crime.
Did he hurt your feels? Offend your precious whiteness? Please show us on the doll where Smollet touched you. Poor little victim that needs a law so his identity can have a safe space.

Drives a wedge into this country to try and exacerbate racial tensions. I’d say it’s akin to a bomb threat. Stokes fear on a lie and is purposefully trying to sway people to be fearful of people because of their skin color. Laugh it off I guess haha. Faking a "hate crime", no big deal.

Given the reality of how this situation turned out, I'd say I'm more on the right path than you are.
Which right path are you referring to? Your constant whining about being a victim of the "real racists?" Or your endless agenda to suppress speech you disagree with by telling bizarre paranoid lies about those speaking it?

We get it, you're a victim of anti-white racism. You tell us that every single day.

He asked a fair question, you belittle and deflect. This is the left today, emotion over logic.

So now Jussie made this up to start a race war?? Damn your delusion runs deep. Did some gay black man touch you the wrong way? Misplaced anger.

Latest: The 2 Nigerians have been released. I'm still waiting for the rest of facts before creating wild conspiracy theories.

Faking any crime is already a big deal, and a punishable offense. No one here has said otherwise, or even implied that Smollett should not be prosecuted if this turned out to be a hoax. I strongly believe he should be prosecuted.

As for driving a wedge in this country, I don't believe that anyone who voted for a President, who constantly namecalls the majority of Americans who didn't vote for him, has any right to complain about that.

Says, without a trace of irony, the poster who is always emotional and never logical.

edit: I just realized that you haven't caught on that I'm intentionally mocking your posting style when I make posts like that. I thought it was obvious.

Not start one. People perceive there being one going on now anyways (I disagree), and he’s doing his part to exacerbate it. I dunno what his true motive was but the race angle was definitely to play off sympathy of popular opinion that white people are dangerous out to get you.

Well they are definitely mode dangerous then brown people crossing the border from Mexico. Crime stats prove it. Not just my opinion.

Many of the emotional posters here can't seem to figure out that it isn't their political views or affiliations that cause them to be disliked, but their individual personalities and characters. Ugly, for example, is a cowardly weasel, who avoids being honest about his positions. While Slow is a raving paranoid who only sees the entire world in black and white (often literally). It's kind of sad really.

That is fair. And if their findings show to be true what things look like now, we agree he should be fired or no?
Are we his employers? If he faked it, then I believe he should be prosecuted and face the maximum penalty under the law, but what his employers do is their business. I've never watched the show anyway.

Have you asked yourself why on earth this guy would want to do this? He had a good job in Hollywood, the sky was the limit. Yet it was cooler to be a victim, spread anti-Trump bs.

I'm not his employer and I assume you are not either. But, isn't that the expected norm these days when someone creates racism?

I agree with this. I don’t like the push to go after people’s jobs. I don’t think they’ll keep him on but that’s heir business.

Vic I’d be curious as to what you see me being dishonest about.
We could start with that time when you used to start thread after thread about alt-right talking points while pretending to be a concerned liberal.
Stop and think about it a minute, what is honest about someone who regularly posts on a political forum, yet never openly takes a political position or conviction? Who never reveals their own beliefs? Not much IMO. Seems cowardly.

I openly take positions the best I can. Many times there’s lots of gray so I’m not going to dig my toes into the sand on something like that. Many of y’all would benefit from doing the same.

I have no clue why anyone would want to do something like this. Maybe a perennial victim like yourself could explain it to me?

Once again, I do believe he should be prosecuted if this is indeed a hoax. But not for his 'anti-Trump BS.' That part is still free speech.
