Samsung Note20 Ultra 5G, Mystic Bronze 128GB, $899.99+tax after $400 credit. Upgrading my Note 9 (unlocked 512GB Cloud Silver) which I got Dec 2018.
Transferring my Google Fi number to this phone to get the $400 credit. $20/month + $10/GB. Google Fi wanted to pay $125 for a trade-in. I'm keeping the Note 9. ;)
Waiting for the protective case which will be delivered tomorrow.

Note9 is still a beast! Paid $169.99 for mine because a salvage store mispriced it. They only had it because the box was wet and the phone is waterproof!

Out of stock!!! No one wants my money!!!

That particular website has a lot of knives out of stock. I guess it's small knife makers in Japan who don't make much product, or they just suck at supply chain management.

Mazaki knives are mostly out of stock from searching around, but here is a site that has mostly his gyutos in stock, as well as a petty and a santoku https://carbonknifeco.com/collections/mazaki

Turns out he really is just a very small operation, but the knife communities really respect his work. Known as some of the better mid-range japanese knives coming out of the country currently. Keep in mind these White #2 steel knives are high carbon content, so they do rust. All it takes is just a simple wipe or rinse and dry after each use and they will be fine. Just don't leave them laying around wet forever. They will develop a patina too. But he hardens his steel to a 64-65 on the Rockwell scale so they hold an edge for a while.

Thanks, I'll give this site a look. My wife really needs a new blade for chicken.

Yes, I read your post about that. And said to myself....lucky guy. I go visit my local savers superstore and once in a while find some good stuff.

I bought an atheist shirt on Amazon.

Do most people even know that this is the symbol for atheist?

As long as she is not cutting through bones and frozen chicken then these gyuto blades I linked up are fine. They are thin and harder steel than most so they hold an edge longer but can chip easier. If you are just slicing through the joint of a thigh to drumstick it's fine, but if you are doing more than that on the regular, get a different style knife. For breaking down chickens they have other knives like the Deba style - for breaking down fish and some meats that involves some bone cutting. German chef's knives are softer steel so won't chip with regular tasks like that, but there are also Japanese brands now that do softer steel to cater to the western market do it all chef's knife as well. Glestain gyuto's are in that style.

German knives are in the 56-59 Rockwell hardness range. The Nakiri I got and the Gyuto's I linked up are like 63-64 hardness.

A large external hard drive. Gonna finally, once-and-for-all, sort out what files (music, podcasts, documents, work-stuff-from-decades-ago...) need to be backed-up and what I can delete. And organise it all in a rational way. This time I mean it. No longer gonna have multiple different backups on different media (all marked "back up, latest, complete") where I can't remember which ones are more recent and where none of them are in fact complete. Definitely gonna get things properly organised this time. For sure. This is it.

good luck. Only seagate I would touch is enterprise grade
Damn, really. I went back and forth between WD and Seagate at this capacity (about the same price); was a bit pissed over the WD and went Seagate. First non WD HDD in ~12 years.

Amazon? I ordered a 5600x first when discord lit up, then ~20 minutes late the 5800x that I actually wanted. Both were slated for end of February/Marc 1 deliveries. 5600x got here Monday and the 5800x today lol. Returning the 5600x ASAP.
Interesting. I actually canceled my 5800x order once I snagged a 5600x. The 5800x is such an awkward price point for performance, why not just get a 5900x if productivity performance is also important for you? Just curious.

No Best Buy. They have a dump every other Tuesday. I have a pre order for a 5950, but if I can get one Tuesday, I'll be quite a happy boy.
BB drops have been fantastic. Sure, waiting two weeks is a long time, but it seems like the right move. Their checkout process is so much better than F5 spamming as well.

I agree with you. I just wish that all stores did it their way.

I actually went with seagate recently as well, because WD changed something in their red drives recently that people are FURIOUS about, and makes them perform much worse than previous drives. In this case I think you made the right call. I was ready to order the WD drives until I saw all of the recent reviews, and it seems like WD is starting to cheap out

Are you referring to SMR vs CMR ? I hear any Red drives but the 'Pro' should be avoided.
