Oh, it's going to be one of those threads. Awesome.
But let me say this. Now, I like AMD GPUs a lot and recommend them a lot. I still do. I'm sure i'll still recommend them after the 700 series is released because they're a good value, and I expect that to remain the case even after the 700 series release. Here's something I just don't get though....who cares if the 780 is faster? The market for super high end GPUs is exceedingly small anyway, so the obvious assumption here is that everything will be priced accordingly. If you look at the top 100 sellers at amazon.com for GPUs that entire list is dominated by cheap 100-200$ GPUs, my only point here is why would anyone get angry and offended over what is faster. Everything will be priced accordingly, and the market will adjust accordingly.
On the flip side of the coin, arguing performance differential percentages on a pre-release product is just old and tiring. I think it's reasonable to believe that yes, the 780 will indeed be faster than the 7970GE. That's no reason to get offended, upset, or argue about performance percentages - seeing that over the course of 5 pages is just annoying to no end. Again - everything will be priced accordingly and everyone will be happy. AMD will still sell their stuff on value with game bundles, and nvidia will do whatever nvidia does.
