i can tell with the ring that the first coin trick was fake, just watch his right hand the entire time, the original was always there... the salt shaker one i dunno...

Hehe... well, in all honesty, I don't know the specifics of how it was done. Chances are, it's a method or contraption that has never been released to anyone else, much less recorded in a book of somesort. Most professional effects are highly guarded secrets (after all, the less people that know the method, the more valuable the magician becomes). But, you can look at the basic premise and known techniques and easily conclude that the restaurant was notified, and perhaps modified, beforehand for the magician. :D

Look, I'm not saying it's real. But saying "it's fake" without offering evidence is about the same as saying "it's real" without any proof. It doesn't help anybody. If you know how he did it, please share. If you can point out indications of fabrication, please share. Otherwise, keep your unhelpful comments to yourself.

i was just pointing out that it's a different video, and like YOyoYOhowsDAjello says, because coins don't go through glass?

as for how he did it, there are many methods. maybe the whole video was edited professionally? you don't have to be a dick about it.

Ummm....looks like something on a TV show, so why the hell would they spend all that time editing photage and have people pretend they're amazed at a trick that requires video editing? I think the audience to the tricks were genuine, and so was the magic act.

With the salt shaker it looks as though there's some refraction going on, like there's a mirror or hole in the glass or something and you're really looking through to something else.

Maybe, in his right hand he puts a piece of glass. He then pushes down on the glass on the top of the coin, and the glass underneath and the coin falls through, while the glass that he had in his hand was pushed into the table, making it seem like nothing happened with the glass.

For the salt-shaker, the lady pushes the cut out piece of glass through, then the guy pulls it through with his right hand, and quickly replaces it with his left afterwards.

For the coin-in-the-glass, the lady has a piece of glass with a coin in it already in her hand, and pushes it through like the first trick.

It's the table, not the items being shown.

Notice how you can't see the legs that are under the table.

It's all reflections/refractions.

You can get a science toy that works mostly the same.

It's like a bowl, with the inside mirrored. Another one is put over top of it, upside down, but this one has a big hole in the top. If you set something in the center of the bottom one and look at it from most any angle that allows a clear view of the hole, it appears that the item is sitting right on top of the hole, and that there isn't a hole, but a mirror. Reach for it, and you cannot grab it.

oh yes, ive seen that before. we have one in our physics class. very cool stuff. used it when we were studying optics.

The guy's name is Cyril Takayama. There are plenty of videos of him doing trippy stuff in restaurants.

Pretty damn cool to watch

Seriously...those saying if this and that could happen...couldn't they rob jewelry stores?

Well a lot of slight of hand guys rob all day long.

If you ever get a chance to get to a Magic Masters shop (corny and over priced tricks, but impressive)...watch the demos they give about 2 feet from you.

they obviously ALL are fake. unless you seriously believe someone can stick their hand through solid glass. LOL.

the point is, its a magic trick, and its fun to watch. we all know magic tricks are fake, but the point of the tricks is the 'wow'/cool factor.
