I really hate the double standard the media has had this case. They had no problem rightfully shitting on the spring breakers in Florida and at South Padre Island in Texas, but when it's old people wanting to party in a pandemic now they're the victims and it's all sob stories.
hahahaha faux outrage not found....rofl...hahahaahaaaaaa

Sounds like a typical Republican move, can't upset the base now. FL was the last stop for these vessels, they've been turned down everywhere else including Argentina, from where the cruise originated. They have become the floating "leper colonies" of the modern era, pretty sad.

And there's the out. Ship holds Florida people hostage until all Americans are removed.

They are pro BIRTH, once a pregnancy has come to term they want JACK-SHIT to do with the mom.

Or the offspring.

sounds like?? When have you ever known Republican to care about actual real down to earth people, regardless of color!!!

Ship delivers a list of Trumpanzees aboard. Let everyone off or we toss your "base" overboard to the sharks.

Tell the ships to sail into the port of the country of the flag they sail under.

When the cruise line beg from money, tell them to ask the country of the flag they sail under. You don't get to avoid paying taxes to the US and then ask US taxpayers to save your ass.

Of the thousands and thousands of cruise ships, less than 1% are registered in the US, and that would be none of the major players in the business.
The Ships are assets of an american company, doing business in america with americans, but fark the americans on the boat because some american tax lawyers figured out a way to cheat the system...........

I'd imagine a governor would have the power to compel hospital care for those who need it and quarantine on land for those who don't, but it would certainly require that because people aren't going to be volunteering otherwise. Certainly there are some places in FL with greater capacity to care for the sick than others. It would have been a critical move earlier on to have prevented cases. At this point, probably just about saving whatever lives can be saved among the ill.

Yes, they are owned by American companies, RICH American companies that have avoided paying taxes in America. Let them ask the countries they do pay taxes in for the taxpayers to bail them out. Otherwise screw them.

Oh Wait, the rich CEO's of these companies will just call up their buddy, the rich asshole Trump.

American companies gaming the american system....export the liabilities offshore and keep the profits onshore.... they've got more than enough assets to pay for the quarantine costs, using the 'registry of convenience' is a cop out, it's an american company

Question to all the people here who don't want the ship to dock because they're registered overseas, does that mean hospitals can stop treatment for all foreign nationals who happen to be in the U.S. and contract Covid-19? I mean none of those people pay taxes in the US and there's little to no guarantee any of those people will pay their medical bills. For that matter, any US citizens being treated overseas should just be kicked out of the hospitals they're in too.

Yes, fark them for that reason. But fark them more because they were stupid enough to get on a cruise ship in March. I'm not going to endanger my family's health because someone is too entitled to think of other people for once in their lives. They can sit on that fucking ship eating corn dogs or whatever is left in the freezers until this whole thing is done. Fuck their sob stories.

how brave and noble, fygm eh?

Are you joking? People made a choice to hop on a cruise ship (which is a floating petri dish in optimal times) during a pandemic, and I'm supposed to endanger my personal health because they regret the phenomenally stupid choice they made? If you call that fygm then fine, whatever.

Sorry but it's exactly the same. You're willing to sacrifice the lives of the passengers on board because of some lost tax revenue? That's pretty f'n sick.
it is no where near the same...those passengers knew they were traveling on ships that were not registered or flsagged in the United States....

The people are being disembarked as we type. They really don't pose much of a threat if properly handled, certainly not in comparison to what already exists in Florida from the State govt's utterly foolish & inept handling of the situation. DeSantis is such a worm that he had to confer with Trump before issuing any state wide orders & denial is still the order of the day in lot of places, I'm sure. Texas is much the same. Damned Trump loving fools will get a lot of people killed.

In Florida, Religious gatherings are still exempt from social distancing. When it starts to bite, the fundie whacks will all rush off to church to pray it away, I suspect, then go out to spread it around believing they're protected by Jesus.
