Here's a shocking fact - law enforcement agencies don't just pick one particular law and go balls out on it. If a crime is believed to have been committed, it is investigated.
BWAHahahahahahahahh,, oh, that's rich.... Don't pick one particular law....
What do you call DUI checkpoints, "Click it or ticket", John / Hooker and Buy / Bust stings and most police depts. abject refusal to investigate residential burglary?
Come on, you really don't believe the propaganda , do you?
They only investigate that which gets them positive press, re-inforces the dominant paradigm and is within budget. Patrol officers and Public Service Programs (after school / truancy) budgets are the first to go.
Remember, police are not in the crime prevention and reduction business, they are in LAW ENFORCEMENT, no matter the size or type of department.
Last on any budget cut list is the current administration / executive compensation and their Wish List of "Toys".
This is a great example of distracting the public while going through their pockets.
Here's another shocking fact.... Professional Baseball isn't part of the public trust, No "Professional" Sport is.
These people are paid cartoon wages to perform the function of a cartoon. I expect these performers to do whatever is necessary to perform to whatever level they feel is needed to compete in their field.
Secondly, we have removed them from any legitimate pedestal the minute we sanctioned, condoned or allowed to participate any one that acted the thug or is an actual convicted criminal on the roster. The simple fact that Sprewell still has a job and was by that very allowance made a hero for disrespecting the coach, first as "The Coach" and secondly as a person only underscores my point.
We have only ourselves to blame FIRST, before we start with the accusations towards players and performance enhancing drugs.
I coouldn't care less, I know the only reason this is an issue is because this is an Election year. The more people who become disillusioned with "What I once believed in..." be it baseball, or politics, the less likely that person is to vote.
