I wonder what this will do for the Daily Double. That is the only reason I went to McD's. A daily double (which is not even on the menu) is basically a McDouble with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. They were $1.99. I used to get a Daily Double + McChicken + Large Sprite when I go to McD's, and for $4.00 it's a good deal.

Paying an extra $1 for lettuce and a tomato does not seem cost effective.

Speaking of sandwiches

Egg McMuffin

Anyone else seem to notice that the muffin is not longer flavor and crispy.
Noticed that the change seemed to happen in '12.
The muffin is now chewy; like what BK come out with.

Compare a Thomas English muffin to a generic.

I used to have 3-4 Egg McMuffin a week previously when on travel; now I can not stand them.

The value is souring everywhere. I got the son of Baconator at Wendy's the other day and found they were making them smaller now. They neglect to mention that on the menu. :p The regular baconator now looks gigantic in comparison.

Do these price increases coincide with them paying their staff more?

If not, then I will refuse to eat at McDonalds... oh wait I did that anyway.
That's a grand gesture, but they don't care. There is no shortage of ignorant fucks to suck down their garbage. Hell, most of the regulars where I work would keep coming even if they sold fetus patties for fifty bucks each.

I'm going to miss you, $1 Spicy McChicken Sandwich. :(

Damnit.. I'm gonna miss it too. Wonder if the $1 sausage mcmuffin is no more too? Those were the only things I went to McDonald's for if I didn't have other options or needed something fast.

Remember when the numbered combo or value meals used to be a value and not $10 ?

Yeah same thing all over again.

It's been like this for over a couple of months here. IIRC the McDouble was $1 and the Double Cheeseburger was $1.39.

I don't eat there much, but it used to more or less equal a free drink.

Their featured foods are too expensive. I could go to a diner and get better food for about the same price. I was a huge fan of the dollar menu, and expect my limited McDonalds stops will be even more infrequent.

I used to go to McDonalds to get a salad, a double cheeseburger, and a diet coke....but the last time I went there, I ate the food and then projectile vomited at the end of the meal.

I don't really know what happened, but after I started eating the salad, I started to feel sick and I tried to get up to fill my cup with water to get the bad taste out of my mouth....but then I just threw up all over the table.

Havent been there since.

I'm pretty sure it was the salad.

I agree with this; the combinations aren't exactly great deals, and they really aren't all that filling. I bought a Big Mac combo (regular size) while on a road trip a few backs back, and IIRC it was $7 and change. Lots of better quick options out there for the same or less money.

Food inflation continues to be horrible. Apparently it doesn't occur to companies that their candy bar or sandwich isn't worth a dollar, or more. Congrats on putting yourself out of business!

Can't comment on McDonalds because I never darken their door voluntarily.

To me, fast food is always about convenience. If I'm in a hurry and have to grab something, I'll stop in.

I rarely order off the dollar menu because by the time you add fries and a drink, it's not that much more expensive to get a Big Mac meal or something else. The younger version of myself would buy 2+ burgers off the dollar menu, but after doing that a few times...I don't want to make myself sick. It's bad enough eating that junk to begin with.

What's the over/under on McDonalds reversing course (at least partially) when, in about a year, they find out they are losing customers/business because they raised prices too high - too fast?

Wonder if they changed about the same time they stopped toasting the hamburger buns :(

Can never bring myself to eat the baconator. The 1st time I noticed it on the menu, I was down in redneck country and this dad asked his husky son (both all decked out in camo) "what do you want?" And with the gravely voice of a 70 year old smoker the boy replied, "baconater"

Awesome, a thread about how fast food sucks and isn't good for you. We needed another one of these.

Have you seen the OP's track record?

Nothing but idiotic bullshit threads about the lottery changing rules (OMG), fast food (double chin OMG), etc.

MCDonalds is freaking nasty. I don't even know what the flip is in that meat but it makes me get all puffy and greasy and gross feeling. I feel like its oozing out of my skin. Seriously something is not right with that meat. I haven't eaten it in years.

Now the sausage mcmuffins with egg are freaking great. That's the only thing I'll eat there from time to time.
