I don't order from the dollar menu so it's non issue. Quarter pounder /w cheese combo with medium Coke is still the same price.

Odd - I never eat there but now I feel like I should go before Nov 4th so I can get some items before they go up in price...

Who would want to buy that shit anyway? They are the lowest ranked fast food place. Hell, even Hardees is higher rated nation wide.

Well - if McDonalds is raising their value menu prices you can bet the others will follow suit.

Well, since a McDouble or McChicken were the perfect complement to a small fries when hungry & a couple hours away from home (and a real dinner), it was, on those rare occasions, a nice bargain to pull in to McD's. But now... satisfries. Yum. (Well, yum compared to most fast food fries). Hopefully, BK keeps the value menu.

Their food can barely be classified as food since it hardly decomposes.

Any salty, dry food with a crispy oil layer will "hardly decompose". McDonald's is hardly unique, despite what sensationalist, one-sided documentaries and YouTube videos done by bored teens would have you believe.

Not that I'm defending McDonald's food by any means, it's just cheap and what you're mentioning isn't even a real issue compared to what's really the problem with fast food (namely that many people overeat there and don't burn off those calories or have balanced diets).

I'll eat BK fries once in a while since they are vegan, unlike McDonald's which adds beef powder/extract. They taste more like homemade fries, anyway. Not my preference, but sometimes I'm hungry for some outside food at like 11PM at work and not a lot is available.

I'm going to miss you, $1 Spicy McChicken Sandwich. :(

Ugh, I wish I could find a mcdonalds with that still around here.

Granted it's not as awesome as wendy's version but then again wendy's are too rare and sadly their new french fry's are horrible salt licks.

...and this makes zero difference in my life.

how about this: "All McDonald's world franchises disappear in a mysterious overnight incident!"

yeah, no difference. the world wouldn't change, either. Shit, people might be less fat after 3 months.

Imagine that.

This isn't just McD's.

The combination of rising food prices from wholesale to distribution to retail along with inflation, increased attention to food quality and health (honestly McD's has responded fairly well over the past decade for a fast-food giant .. it's still fast food after all lol) :

You have to :

A- Raise Prices
B- Lower Portions
C- Lower Quality

You have to pick at least one of the above, unless your margins were already sky high and you can afford a hit.

EVERY value item and even many standard menu items at fast food places around here has increased in price in recent years. I used to love Taco Beuno's #5, it was under $5 for a Muchaco, Crunchy Taco, and Bean Burrito + Drink, now it's well over $6. Ditto a simple Bean Burrito. Was a very hefty satisfying snack for 89 cents, now it's smaller and $1.19.

Wendys? Check
Jack? Check
BK? Check
etc
etc

I'm happier with the price hike vs. a quality cut. I bought the GF a spicy chicken combo thing from JB the other day (we were moving and didn't have time for a proper meal anyway), and the chicken was literally a quarter-inch flat disc surrounded by breading thicker than it was. This wasn't the 'value' sandwich, it was the supposed entrée item. Pathetic.

There is a McDonalds right across the street from Junior High School near my home. A recent survey at that school found that nearly 40% of the kids that attend that school eat lunch at the nearby Mcdonalds each day. Many said they also bought large soda's from Mcdonalds after school to drink on the way home. We are in for a future generation of fatties like never before. Fast food everywhere now.

Spicy chicken, small fries and $1 drink is my favorite light meal for me thats gonna be bye bye :((
I wouldn't mind as much if they just raise it by .19/.29 but .69 is wayyyy too much.
Just like when Wendys raise their Jr bacon chesseburger to $1.69, I stopped eating it as much.

My Senior year at high school (late 80's) we had a local pizza place deliver pizzas to the school. The greasiest pizzas you can imagine. I ate 2 to 3 slices a day, a chocolate milk and a package of bacon and cheddar or hot fries. I didn't gain a pound and probably weighed less than 125lb. Oh, and I worked at McDonald's 5 nights a week and ate a sandwich, fries and soda on my break.

Maybe the food had real ingredients then. I remember them switching from real mayo. Maybe it was because we were more active than today's kids. Probably a combo of both.
