UGH. Everyone, enjoy this disappointing link. BARF.
Why does every game have to have a giant vagina monster these days?

No, they killed what was a great universe (the Warcraft saga) when they announced "Mists of Pandaria" rather than "The Emerald Dream" as the next WoW expansion.
Seems to me people are being too harsh on the MMO. It's an MMO and the comments seem to be mostly critical of MMO's.
Now the concern about it destroying single player is worth looking at - they are different and it's reasonable to want more single player.
Did WoW destroy Warcraft non-MMO? Warcraft 3 was very different than Warcraft 2 - and both are 'outdated' now needing big changes for a new game.
So I don't think there'd be a very similar game without WoW - but ya, there hasn't been any new game.

I dont know the inner workings of Bioware/Lucas Arts/EA, but I assume Kotor 3 was cancelled/never developed because they did not want to take away resources and interest from TOR. A great loss IMO. The quality of the single player games Bioware has put out has declined greatly as well. Can never prove it is related to diverting resources to TOR but in my own mind I feel that is what happened.
I sure hope this doesn't mean the end of the single player games
I might have been interested if it had Elder Scrolls style combat, but it looks like Wow style combat. I'll pass.
I just don't get why they think they need to break the mold and go MMO. The Elder Scrolls games are massively popular as they stand. And I have come to the opinion that MMOs are more made by lazy companies that don't want to continue to innovate but want to sit back and Bilk... Ahem.. Milk the gaming community for cash on an ongoing basis for nothing new. Rather than actually come up with new game content and ideas.
They're banking on the "I wish I could play Skyrim with my friends" crowd for a quick buck. This game won't last.
