In Trump’s world there is never a contradiction. If he says something that is the exact opposite of what he just said then first and foremost YOU heard him incorrectly and second you are clearly using your bias to play games to make him look bad. Either way he is going to change the subject after calling you some names and either way any misunderstanding on your part as to what the truth is (at any given moment) is entirely your own fault.

So, translating from Trump-ish: when Trump says “can you believe I lost to that guy?” he is not admitting that that is what happened. He is saying that it is so unbelievable that it cannot be possible. He is saying that if you can believe it, you are not loyal to him. He (in his own mind) didn't lose but he’d love to know if you think he lost. He almost managed to get a guy publicly executed for this kind of treason and he likes that.

What matters is if a jury thinks a guy saying ‘can you believe I lost’ is indicative that he knew he lost. I bet the answer to that is yes.
