I admit I haven't read thru all the posts here, but my observation is that Floyd was definitely on something. Some drug that altered perception and probably the reason that Floyd was not understanding and so over-reacting. I guess drugs can do that? To alter perception? I would think that alteration of perception would usually be a good thing for the drug user-abuser, UNTIL.... something goes wrong like a cop coming along where that drug induced good perception turns into drug induced bad perception. So Floyd freaked, unable to cope nor to understand the situation. Frankly, I doubt that Floyd knew the 20 dollar bill was fake or did Floyd even care because of his being high on drug(s) and that 20 dollar bill was the last thing on Floyd's mind.
And I wonder.... why after leaving the store, why Floyd and his friends remain parked in the car for so long? Why did they not drive away once Floyd returned? Could it be that Floyd was in the car taking more drug(s)? Was Floyd popping something else or taking more of something else before the time police arrived? Was Floyd even more OUT OF IT when cops arrived than Floyd was when inside of the store? If Floyd came out of the store and got into the car and sit there taking more drugs, then the drugs kicked in, and made the situation between Floyd and the police much worse. I would LOVE to ask the other two car occupants "if they" witnessed Floyd taking any drug while sitting in the car? Because THEY, the cars occupants, would know the answer to whether or not Floyd did take something.
I don't know.... It's sad that Floyd had to put up with this and it's sad that cops have to put up with this. Cops are called and they arrive not knowing what the hell they might get into. And Floyd was overly freaking out and totally unable to grasp the reality of the situation. The cops simply wanted to take Floyd downtown to the police station, hand Floyd off to authorities, then go onto their next police call. Yet what happened, they encountered someone totally out of control and totally uncooperative and totally over reacting to a routine arrest situation.
Now I believe, after watching the videos, that Chauvin will probably get off for one reason, that the neck hold WAS LEGAL in the state of Minnesota when Chauvin used it, however Chauvin used the neck hold inappropriately. It will probably come down to the training of how to use the neck hold, and was Chauvin trained correctly? If I were a cop, I'd want those days when I helped little old ladies across the street, got a kids cat out of a tree, helped a stranded driver who ran out of gas. But then you have THOSE OTHER DAYS when you are dealing with drugs and counterfeit money. No wonder cops cop an attitude...
