Hey, good job making a heavily biased thread in favor of evolution, citing 3 heavily biased sources, including the wikipedia link that doesn't even explain the museum before assailing it with "consensus of scientists" of all things. That and you posted it in heavily leftist forum, so you'd be gauranteed that there would be much "hilarity ensueing."

Why did this evolution/creationist crap come up again? Is there some kind of timer that people have? Once every 2 months, we have to make a thread about evolution and then the crazies come out claiming, "It's just a theory" and, "The world is 4000 years old" etc...

The only good thing about the timing of these threads is the comic relief I can get whenever I look up from my quantum mechanics book.

Well I don't know, creationists in many places (and nationally) are trying to use the law to force their non-scientific beliefs into the science classroom...so while they might not be hate-filled or anything, they're obviously not the nicest people in the world. I respect people of faith, any faith, but I have absolutely nothing but dislike for the people who don't follow the 11th commandment...thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself. If you want to believe in creationism, fine by me. If you want to try to tell me it's an alternative scientific theory to evolution, I will politely disagree. But if you want to try to FORCE people to treat your religious belief as scientifically valid...that's where I draw the line.

I agree with you in part, science classrooms should teach science, real science. There have been many lies printed in school textbooks that even after they're disproven, they still keep them in there as support for evolution.

Let's run with the notion that a community wants to get their public schools to teach creationism. It isn't hatred, because the communities beliefs are that without the forgiveness of sins, they will be sent to hell. It would be hateful and cruel for the community to know this and not want to warn their kids. Even if that's all hogwash, it's still coming from a platform of love, not hate.
