Something I've been meaning to do for quite some time is to update some of the computer-related guides I've written for my customers, particularly the ones that I drop in a desktop folder on every computer I do a Windows install on. Thankfully I've been freaking busy with my business for quite some time, and now this enforced downtime gives me a chance to catch up.

I decided to work on my guide called 'Handling a misbehaving computer', and a section about Task Manager talks about how Windows needs about 13 processes to run properly... hum. It's been a while since I gave this guide a complete overhaul
Check out www.internetessentials.com , there's a section with tutorials for new computer users, on a wide variety of introductory and not-so-introductory topics.

I tied to fix my snowblower and managed to make it worse. Muffler was broken so I went to loosen the bolt holding it to the engine and it sheared off at the engine with about 0.5lbs of pressure. So that's fun.

Otherwise working on my CAD drawing for our basement. We're planning on adding a place to keep wine and a workout room that would be listable as an additional bedroom

NFL Draft is going to supply some much needed sports fix to tonight at least.

Kinda surprised sports still going on, is it going to be live stream only like some of the big music like Pink Floyd doing or is there some actual damn consideration of these places being packed in this kind of place? Or the draft gonna happen then the season is gonna be put on hold?

I rarely follow sports but i do love a good super bowl :)

It's going to be odd not hearing Goodell being booed constantly as he reads the picks.
It's the Joe Bo show. We've had/have storms and Ma's power is out. Her concern, at 79? "I'm missing the draft. Do something. And my computer isn't working."

She and/or boomer need to get laid.

Looks like my services are required 90 miles away today, gonna do some work around a mobile home park. Major plumbing issues and my boss CLEARLY needs me cause hes worst then me about avoiding people. Luckily i know this guy and can trust but will bring optional masks as well JUST in case. Guess we digging under a few units. Most of these go back the 1960s and with people non stop home its causing more issues then normal. My assumption? Crap toilet paper no pun intended.

So yup, gonna take the 90 mile trip directly there, work the 5 or hours only stop for gas and maybe one of those gas station burgers cause honestly i hate the idea of stopping at one more place then head straight home . Working in ventura,ca so usually i enjoy myself but these idiots over there just opened up their beach....Yup no fun for me today besides making a couple bucks.

Ok maybe a bit more fun then that, the poop posts are to die for at this point. Time for some coffee, i leave 7:30am its mainly a beautiful mountain drive. I may take a few pictures for you guys as i stop cause of back issues. A 97 Corolla 5 speed isn't exactly fun for mountain drives LOL so i need breaks to stretch.

My dad bought a Sears Craftsman lawn mower back in 1978. By 1995 the muffler rusted out and was basically a piece of cylindrical metal that was 50% still hanging on. That mower was louder than any Harley ever. My neighbour was annoying me by letting her dog out at 6:00AM and it would bark non-stop for 2 hours. This was in the summer and I was working evenings so I would get home around midnight. I crafted a revenge plan and decided to start cutting our grass at 8:00 AM. Between to 2 houses the noise reverberates and is deafening. She bitched about the lawn mower. I told her to keep the dog quiet. She said no. I said my grass needs cutting every morning. After 3 days of this she shut her dog up.

Sweet, sweet revenge by a broken muffler on my lawn mower.

:D

Zone tailed hawk, super pissed because I exist (and I'm close to the nest).

Prairie falcons, they were shrieking up a storm when I first spotted them. I had interrupted a prey hand-off so they were all flustered. This is mamma with what appears to be a rodent or part of a rodent in her talons.

Thanks for sharing, such a awesome post. Hoping to see something on my trip usually not seeing much besides rabbits and the rare deer. I did see once what i believe was a mountain lion but it was on a midnight drive through the mountains. I rounded a sharp bend and there it was, i had to hit the brakes then i just waited patiently for it to cross. It then ran off into the bushes and i was on my way.

Edit: forums acting very slow and odd sorry for the typos and whatever its not even showing up for me to edit and remove.....

While I am getting paid my normal salary right now due to CARES but have been sitting at home for the past month, I just found out that I have the opportunity to do more work for my company. They have some internal admin web app that needs some updating and are going to pay on a "page" basis of $1k/page. The estimates I got was that a page should take 2-3 days. There are 4 of us that are going to be working on this but I'm hoping I can do a couple pages lol. So getting a couple extra grand while getting my normal salary will be pretty nice lol. I'll find out more information on Monday.

I would be giving that Gila monster a fairly wide berth.

Years ago in our downtown I witnessed a Falcon attacking a pigeon. I heard the shriek of the falcon and looked up in time to see it attack the pigeon. It hit it like a hammer and then a burst of feathers and the falcon leaving in a hurry. Their nest was near the top of a office tower about a block away.

Did my last section of concrete last night and waiting for it to dry. First time working with concrete by myself. I clearly need to practice my leveling skills, but I'm not too worried about this section because it's where my garbage bins go. I'll be filling the gaps with some sand this weekend if I feel like it. I'm beat. Mixed 15 80 lb bags by myself for this little project.

Giants doing well in this draft so far so that's nice. Tomorrow gonna drive into manhattan with my bike and a mask and gloves and ride around a bit and take pics of all the 'abandoned' landmarks. Will maintain social distancing.
