People's expectation of Iphone6 is really beyond humans imagination.

So I'd like to ask , the biggest attractive point for the new one is what? For Iphone5S, only a finger print seems to be an innovation. And for the Iphone6, is it the big size? 4.7" or bigger one?

We have to say that apple is really a good company, anyway they start the new age of smart phone. But As jobs has gone, sorry , this is really said. post-jobs, what we can get for the new iphone?

And a very big drawback for apple is that they only release one new product a year, this is really a long time for apple fans to wait.

Anyway, for this time, if the only change of Iphone6, I think there will be no expectation for it.

IMO the biggest innovation for the 5s was the processor - it caught a lot of manufactures with their pants down.

And a year is not a long time to wait for a new phone, how many phones do you buy a year? Most people are on contract and buy every two.

As for the 6? Hard to say, but if the screen is larger while maintaining PPI I think it's going to be pretty nice. I just wish they'd loosen up their UI a little - I get kinda sick of looking at the same screen.

edit - chances are that this may be the biggest iphone launch to date.

Eh, the No.1 reason why ex-iPhone users leave Apple is because of screen size.

Eh, it'd be very close between screen size and itunes frustrations. I left during the iphone 4 days when their screen size wasn't all that different from the competition, and solely because of itunes and the horrible way everything was connected. The last straw was when I was doing a firmware update through itunes, then it had to phone home to check it was an "official" update. I had a router hiccup or something and it didn't complete the check, and it put my phone into emergency only mode untill I reformatted the phone and started over.

I don't think you have to be tethered for updates anymore, but I don't care... Itunes can blow me

Apple has a habit of not spilling its entire load in a single product update. When it updates its established products, it does so in a gradual fashion, to keep customers upgrading.

And I think if Apple releases a 4.7" iPhone 6 with a mild processor upgrades from the 5s, it will sell extremely well. As much as I personally hate big phones (and I had a 4.7" Android phone), a lot of other people love them, including many Apple fans.

chances are that this may be the biggest iphone launch to date.
I see what you did there...

Camera as always. Screen size. And ui.

I love iphone for how simple they are and features like the camera. But I use an android because size and ui layout. So many different things in launchers and version updates.

If nothing more it'll establish the new perfect size screen.

I have zero interest in Apple products.

The final iphone user in my family recently defected to the S5.

Not sure what you mean. Some people hate big phones (myself included), but other people love them. It was the same last year and the year before.

It's the same thing with the iPad. The iPad mini captures a market that the iPad doesn't, but it doesn't mean everyone who prefers the iPad's size must suddenly like the iPad mini.

Funny how Jobs laughed at the larger phones and stated, numerous times, that 3.5 inches was perfect. The new one will be 4.7 or whatever, but that will be the new perfect.

I'll bet there will be lines around the block the day the new perfect iPhone goes on sale.

The small phone crowd must be having a heart attack.

They can't claim that 4.7" is the perfect size as long as they plan to sell other sizes too. The question I have is will there be 2 or 3 "perfect sizes".

Does anyone else ever look at people using iPhones and think "OMG that is so small"?

I do it all the time and it's weird because I used to think they were huge.

I think it's kind of like that kid in 2nd grade that took off his glasses for the first time and you almost couldn't recognize him because he looked so different. You just get used to what you see all of the time.

They could always go for the perfect size for me campaign. Seems to have worked out pretty good for all the other phone makers.

Yep....Not sure how or why but they have shrunk over the years. Ditched the iPhone at the 4s announcement and haven't looked back.

It really depends on the person. I ditched my 4.7" Android phone partially because I hated the size. I much, much prefer the 4.0" size of the 5s (although I think I could go to say 4.2" if they decreased the bezel size).

I would be really pissed off if Apple dropped that size, but I highly doubt that would happen. Just like with the iPad, they'll just have two sizes... and then in a few years maybe they'll even have 3 sizes.

I switched from a Galaxy Nexus to an iPhone 5 because I couldn't stand the Nexus' size. It felt really uncomfortable in my pants and I couldn't use it efficiently with one hand.

I really hope Apple releases a 4" iPhone 6 or I won't be upgrading for a long time.

iTunes is a pile of garbage. At first glance, it looks terrific. In actual use...why the heck is it so SLOW?? It's a mess! They need to do what Adobe did with the last generation of Acrobat releases...deep-six the old code & write it to be super-fast. Adobe was losing people left & right to the ultra-zippy Foxit Reader until they did a complete 180 & released the updated version (a few versions ago) that launches nearly instantly.

And yup, you don't need to be tethered for pretty much anything these days - music, backups, updates, etc. Which is great, because iTunes is a bloated hog haha.

Outside of the screen size discussion, is there really anything new to add? Any big new features that the iPhone is missing? I'm not talking about incremental stuff, like 8MP to 13MP cameras, I'm talking about actual features they should add. The only big thing I can really think of is waterproofing like the Galaxy Active, that would be the bomb, especially if you have kids!

No one knows. But supposedly, it'll come with iOS 8 which will be a major improvement over iOS 7. Besides that, a thinner shell which is always welcoming, more battery life, double the processing speed, double the graphics speed, improved fingerprint reader, etc.

Those are all pretty substantial improvements. I just hope they make a 4" version.

Waterproofing would be nice but there's always more you can add. What if they finally got off their butt, improved Apple TV to more than a Netflix streaming box (add a camera to it and enable Facetime already), and then allow your iPhone to sync with it and so you can finally get your "digital home ecosystem" already.

Edit: Yeah maybe I didn't answer your question but standalone features is one thing, but integration with other devices can be a pretty cool feature too.

Screen size is the big thing, of course, and I think a lot of techies undersell how important it could be to the next iPhone's sales. A lot of us kid ourselves into thinking that average Android phone buyers are in it for the software freedom or Google ecosystem... no, it's frequently because the manufacturers have the screen sizes people want. That's it. Many customers aren't loyal to a platform at all unless they've bought a lot of apps, and they'll switch if they don't have a good experience.

A big iPhone may not flip the market share situation around, but it could provide a big surprise to the people assuming that the market will "inevitably" slide toward an Android monopoly.

Beyond that? Apple's going to no doubt tweak the camera, and I wouldn't be surprised if the A8 chip is once again a big leap forward in speed. A bigger phone may also allow for a disproportionate increase in battery life, even if the device is thinner. And Apple has a knack for throwing in features whose impact isn't always clear in leaks.
