Got anything besides "teh eval repubs are bad" rhetoric?
Censorship - nowadays lead by democrats, just look at Hillary & Co's crusade,
While I don't support the recent video game foolishness, the push for censorship is clearly lead by the Republicans. The Republican controlled FCC has actually committed a great deal of censorship. Hillary's just making noise about it, and if noise counts, there's the Republican-sponsored bill proposed in Alabama to censor gay authors and the religious right always wants to censor something.
talking about something and actually legislating it are two different things. A bunch of complaints to the FCC by some religious folk wont take away your rights. A lunatic senator on the other hand, will. I dont know about Alabama, but sounds pretty messed up.
The FCC is already censoring TV. The religious right is a separate issue.
Corpses can't have rights,
Yet wills hold up in court every day, hmmm
Which is irrelevant. Laws and rights are different matters. We can allow inheritance, but there's no right to it.
In fact, in violation of the conservative idea of a flat tax,
Wrong, look up all the popular flat tax proposals, inheritence is considered unearned income aka a "gift", and is not taxed.
Yes, inheritance is unearned income, which is taxed in many flat tax proposals. While some Republicans favor a fake flat tax, which doesn't tax their favored forms of income equally, a tax system isn't actually flat unless it's revenue neutral, dealing equally with earned and unearned income.
how you spend your money - the dems know how to spend it better than you do. (Retirement, Healthcare, charity, etc)
Don't fool yourself. The Republicans are even more spend happy than the Democrats these days.
Increased spending means increased control? Your painting with some pretty broad strokes. I would rather the govt spend more, and not mess with my freedoms, than a govt that spends less, and tries to do things for me.
You were addressing government spending, so I replied in kind, but if you want your freedoms, then you certainly don't want Bush and company, with their large scale gutting of the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments via the Patriot Act and smaller provisions.
At one point in time, Republicans may have been in favor of small government, but Dwight Eisenhower was the last Republican President who anyone could creditably claim to support that idea.
Don't be so short sighted. a War, a Recession, a new federal department for the first time in decades, increased educational spending, etc
You're mostly listing the ways that Bush knows how to spend your money better than you do--starting wars, continuing America's rush toward a police state, which are certainly less well justified, more damaging to our freedoms, and less useful uses of my money than retirement and health care.
